I'm thinking of joining weight watchers online, but I want to hear from those who have or are on ww and how it works. I hear if you follow, and stay with in your points, you really lose weight. Any info would be very appreciated! Thank you!

In 2002, I lost 81 pounds doing WW. I attended their meetings. In 2005, after my first son was born, I lost 60 pounds via WW. I have never done it online - I have always gone to the meetings, but it does work. It really made me reevaluate portion sizes!

Yep, it works! I did it online (I'm not a meeting person) and lost 60 pounds over about 9-10 months. I've been able to keep it off without tracking points anymore - I kind of hover within 5 pounds of when I stopped tracking points, which I'm generally happy with. As long as you are honest with yourself and really keep track of points, it works well. It was hard work, but looking back it wasn't bad at all! Just wish I would have done it sooner!

I truly believe it is THE best program out there. I've lost weight on it three major times (17 lbs shortly after college, 30+ pounds after my twins were born, and 10+ pounds (still last of baby weight).

It's inexpensive.
It allows you to cook for your ENTIRE family (i.e. no separate meals for yourself).
It's cheap --- I've done the at-home program the last two times.
It teaches PORTION control.
It encourages exerice.
It teaches eating foods better for you (foods with more fiber... less points, veggies, etc).
It encourages drinking more --- water!

It's very hard the first couple of weeks... getting used to your points. But you start getting into the swing, start finding snacks with a lot of quanity and lower in points (ex. popcorn is great). If you stick with it... you will lose the weight. The program now is even better than years ago because it gives you 35 freebie points throughout the week ... helps when you go out to dinner/function/etc.

It's just a great program I think!

Good luck.

I've lost 5 pounds so far doing ww. I don't have lots of weight to lose, so the online tools really help. You can track your activity (you get points for that) and what you eat. I thought I had always done a good job of keeping track of what I ate, but I had no idea that some stuff was so many points!

A long time ago, I did the meetings and lost about 50 pounds that way (after one of my kids). I found those to be very helpful with people providing different strategies for dealing with things like food at work or those buffets during the holidays.

Overall I find ww to be a great program because it teaches you about real food and your eating habits. The places where you have to buy food just teaches you to buy their food.

Yes, it works! I lost 28 lbs using Weight Watchers. Once I'm done nursing my twins I will follow the program again to lose the remaining baby weight. If you follow the program it really does work!

Yes, Weight Watchers really works but with any reputable weight-loss program it will require that you do some soul-searching and actually do the work. With WW there are no magic pills, quick fixes, gimmicky vitamins - just you learning about proper nutrition and adopting a nutrition plan for the rest of your life. If you're willing to make a change in your life, you will definitely see results! Good luck to you!

If you want to try something online that is free, go to sparkpeople.com. You can enter in your goals. You enter in your foods and they track your calories and such. They also have working out help and online forums for support.
