Does Anyone Believe in Astrology?

Probably just me, but lately I have noticed that so many people that I associate with are very grouchy. I made the comment to an old friend and she said that it was probably because Mercury was retrograde. I had no idea what that meant so when I asked her she told me about astrology. So with interest I read my horoscope personality thing online, and it so does not sound like me. If anything I sound like a cancer or scorpio, but not as a gemini. Anyways, while online I find something called Chinese astrology, and I'm supposed to be a rooster and I do fit that personality perfectly. Not only that, but the people that I'm supposed to get along with and not get along with are so true. When I read my mom's Chinese astrology, she fits that personality perfectly too. Anyways, does anyone believe in astrology, if so can anyone relate to their personality description? What do yah think about it?

I've had some private comments and I just want to add that I do not mean to offend those who are religious, to me it's inoffensive and I always keep an open mind to different things. I don't think my friend is evil because she believes in astrology. She's a great person. If you find this offensive, please don't comment, just move on.

What can I do next?

I don't know about believe in it, but it is harmless fun to read horoscopes and compare them to your personality. Some people plan their lives around Astrology, but lots of people go overboard on various things anyway - at least Astrology is safe. I am a gemini, and I can totally relate to the 'twin' aspect of the profile, as can the other geminis in my life -a very good friend, and my husband. It will be interesting to see if our daughter fits it as well!
In regards to the comment about Mercury - it's similar to noticing people being weird during a full moon. And, if I recall correctly, women used to base their menstrual cycles on the lunar phases before there were calendars (who DOESN'T act different around their period!). I think there's truth in that!
So, if it interests you, there are plenty of resources to read up on!

I agree with Alexandra, astrology and religion are not replacements for each. To me, astrology is the idea that the physical componenets of the universe affect us, whether its if the stars are in alignment or the gravitational pull of the moon. The universe is a natural wonder, and yes, I believe that the way the universe is made up affects who we are and the way we behave, just maybe not 100% of the time. Personality profiles cannot be specific and cannot include every single person, but its a generality of the majority of the people who fall into the date range. (As for C-sections....I think that typically they are still within a couple of weeks of the actual due date and even then the date ranges on personality profiles are not set in stone to exact dates. If you have a handful of dates close to the cut off date of a certain profile you could go either way.) I have found that for the most part, I fit both personality profiles (astrological and chinese) to be pretty close. And if you don't believe it in, it can still be fun to read!

I am a christian as well, but read it for fun and wow it more than fits me to a T! Same with my husband, so I am open minded to stuff that is bigger than I.

Well, God putthe stars up there in the 1st place so I wouldnt go as far as saying Astrology is anti Christian. But when reading the personality profiles, mine fits me to a T. So does my sister's and husband's. And my friends for that matter. I've only read Chinese astrology when at a chinese restaurant that has them as place mats and I'm not sure that EVERYONE born in a same certain year can have the same personality. But I think a birthdate is more right on. The only thing that I wonder is what about the people who were born via Ceasarean? For example what if a natural due date makes someone a Taurus but they had a scheduled Cesarean which makes them an Aries?
I'm totally an Aries. No doubt about it! I don't read the daily horoscopes though. I just like the personality profiles. :)

If you consider yourself to be religious then Astrology should mean nothing to you what ever happens to you in this life is because God has intended that for you he is Omniscient all knowing he has molded your destination for you before your birth therefore this Astrology deal whether it's right or wrong is misleading and just believe in God and his powers as he's the one who creats miracles every day....

No, I don't believe in astrology....now, do I think it can be entertaining or that there is perhaps interesting coincidences, then yes, I do believe that. But, more importantly, maybe you should take a step back and look at what you're looking to for entertainment or interesting coincidences...you're looking to the "created" not the "Creator". God is very clear in the Bible that He is the only one that has answers for our lives. By looking at something that He created for those answers, it is extremely dissappointing for God. Also, and, probably more troubling for me is the concept that people can be put into a dozen or so categories....the God that created me and you didn't create "categories" of personalities or character-types...our great God created uniquely-gifted and talented INDIVIDUALS...we are all different in the way God has made us. It's rather insulting to God and to each other to think that we can all be lumped into these generalized categories. God expects more of us than astrology...He expects us to use our mind to explore our world and use our intellectual mind to understand who we are and He expects us to use our spiritual side to communicate with Him and to have a relationship with him. My advice is not to waste your time with useless diversions when God has far more perfect plans for your life.
