I just got back from my prenatal appointment, and there was bilirubin in my urine apparently. My OB said it can happen sometimes and he wouldn't be concerend about unless it happened twice. Then he looked at the lab results again to double check the levels and decided to send me back to the lab for some blood work. Now I am worried there is something wrong with my liver, I won't have the results until Monday. I had a feeling something was off with my sample, because it was almost orange. Who pees orange, apparently me. I just figured I would have some protein in there or something, but not this. Has this happened to anyone else, what was the end result?

What can I do next?

Drink lot's of water. No I don't remember hearing bilirubin in my urine but did have protein & sugar spilled into it with my 3rd pregnancy it was still at a safe level not to be concerned with pre eclampsia, but with my second I had the feeling of delivering early (didn't) but just having braxton hicks that were more intense than usual so I went to L&D did a urine test where they told me I had keytones (just spelling as I hear it) in my urine from not eating as much as I should that my baby was pulling nutrition out from my body as long as I ate more & drank more water I would be fine baby was healthy just the darn prenancy nausea kept me from eating.
Don't worry yet hard to do but until you know for sure what the cause is the treatment is try not to think about it just know that yor doing everything good for you & baby.Have you kept tracked of when you started to pee orange maybe that can help, sometimes the prenatal vitmains alters the urine or any other medications.

Both of my twins had jaundice ( I have no clue if I spelled that right :) ) and they ended up spending about 12hours sleeping under the lights at the hospital. They didnt seem to mind it at all. Try Rachel D.'s advice, a little sunshine will help!

a friend of mine developed coliostasis (sp) but it is a third trimester thing. it made her itchy and swollen. she just had to eat a less fat diet and watch her biliruben levels. they had her go in once a week for the last trimester and test. Baby is now 9 weeks old and just fine.
