Hi everyone. My name is T. Standridge, and I have a beautiful two year old daughter, Athena. I was kind of curious if any of the moms actually meet up for play groups or whatever for the kids to socialize, and for the moms to have adult conversation. It can be a little lonely as a stay at home mom. For my self I feel disconnected from the rest of the world, and I also, feel bad that my daughter isn't able to socialize much with children her age. Just a thought. if anyone knows about playgroups let me know, I would love to meet up with one.

What can I do next?

Hi T.! There are some playgroups in Clarksville. When I first started looking a few years ago, I didn't have much luck. However, I finally found MOMS Club of Clarksville. The link is http://www.geocities.com/clarksvillemomsclub/. The link will give you some info about the club. They try to have at least one activity a week and there are also smaller, age-specific playgroups as well.

There's also the library on Pageant Lane and Chick-Fil-A - just for general indoor play time for kids. I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but once the weather warms up, there are a lot of great parks in town also.

I don't know if you're military or not, but I believe Fort Campbell has some playgroup/mom focused things to do as well.

I hope you enjoy Clarksville! We've been here just over 4 years and we're leaving in June. This is a place I will truly miss. Best of luck to you!

Looks like I am a little late to this forum. But, I am looking to meet up with some moms as well. If you have found any groups, please forward them to me. I have a two year old boy, well, he's almost two (22 months).

Hi T.. There are a few moms groups that meet up- I think you can look on Yahoo to find them. Also- many of them meet at the library. They have a fantastic childrens section where the kids not only can read books, but there are lots of toys, a daily craft section with the "grannies" (daily until about 3pm) and a toddler time with singing, finger play and story time. The toddler time is usually Mondays at 0930 for about 30-45 min. This is a great place not only for the kids but for mom too!
On Thursdays at 0930 at the First Baptist Church, downtown Clarksville, is a MOPS group that meets. (moms of preschoolers.) There is FREE daycare there while the moms meet, eat, do crafts and have ADULT conversation for 3 hours. It is great and the women are very friendly and welcoming! It is not affiliated with the church, although they do have an opening and closing prayer. Its nice though. You go twice a month- so either the 1st and 3rd or the 2nd and 4th Thursday. Its $20 for the year and well worth it.
Good luck!
K.

Hi T.,
My name is E. Pitts and I have a two year old girl as well. I don't really know any groups that are getting together but I wouldn't mind getting out of the house and see the kids play. We are about to move in two weeks to a new house but after that it would be fun to maybe start a playgroup. What do you think??

hello T. ,
i know how you feel and i havnt heard of any groups for moms. I am a 30 yr old woman and i have a 13 yr old daughter and a 13 mth old son and one on the way in july. and i also stay at home. I do feel like I am disconnected from others all i do is have conversations with my son, my daughter is away at school and my fiance is always at work seems like once i settled down all my friends found it hard to be around kids since they had none. so it would be nice for us stay at home moms to have adult conversations.. and our kids to make friends
