Dentist for My Child

I am seeking a dentist to see my 3 year old son. This will be his first visit. Most importantly, I want him to have a very positive dental experience and my preference is to take him to a Pediatric Dentist since they are supposed to specialize in treating children. I'd like to know which dentists other moms have felt very confident taking their children too (and, why)... and, I'd like to know which ones to avoid! I'd like to find someone on the north side of Atlanta (Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Dunwoody or easy access off 285 / 400).

What can I do next?

We use Dr Nath at Roswell Pediatric Dentristry and we love him. We were one of his first patients and my son really enjoys going there. He is at the corner of Crabapple and Hwy 92.

I love Roswell Pediatric Dentist. The staff and Dr. make the visit fun and a learning experience. The office is full of bright colors and TV screens with cozy couches. If their is any waiting for the children they don't wait in the chair, they get to move into a game room. I don't really know about prices because my insurance has covered all the expenses so far. My children love their dentist. My daughter especially, she will be on her 4th visit without a cavity and for that she gets a bike or scooter from the dentist!
Good luck,
T.

We like Drs. Rosenthal, Janko and Jackson on Mt. Vernon at Barfield Road. We've visited Jackson and Rosenthal in particular. Their practice is very low key (not a lot of "bells and whistles", but a cool big saltwater fish tank) and very loving.

My daughter goes to Children's Dentistry of Atlanta - Dr Janice Lee. Her office is across from Scotish Rite in the Peachtree Dunwoody Medical Center. Her number is ###-###-####. Unfortunately I had taken my daughter to a few other dentists before I found Dr Lee. From her past experiences, my daughter was deathly afraid of going to the dentist. We've been going to Dr Lee for a few years. She really helped my daughter overcome her anxiety.
Good Luck

When we first moved here 7 years ago, I was in the same exact predicament. I was bent on having a pediatric dentist see my young children. But the frustrating part for me was that each PD I contacted was either fully booked for the next several months or was not accepting new patients. A very close church member recommended a family dentist. It was my children's first dental visit and we have used him ever since. I drive from Kennesaw/Acworth area to him on Windy Hill Road. Once I thought it was too long a distance to drive, especially with the rising cost of gas, and went to a dentist in my area. Needless to say that it was not a pleasant experience for anyone in my family. So we went back to Dr. Snyder. Everyone in my family, including the children always look forward to a visit to the dentist. They are very friendly and gentle. You may give him a try. His name is Dr. Larry Snyder. ###-###-####

Dental TLC is where we will be taking my son. My husband and I go there now and it has been the most positive experience ever. I have been to many dentist over the years and have found that most are out to take your money and the insurances money. In the past 6 years I have visited 4 different dentist and have found Dental TLC the most caring. My husband had some dental work done and later that night the dentist called asking how he was feeling. He was sleeping at the time and the dentist asked how to get into contact with him in the morning and made sure to call the next morning.

They are located in Sandy Springs. The number is ###-###-####. They also have a website that will give you a tour of their office dentaltlc.com.

Good Luck

We LOVE Dr. Janice Lee. She is on Peachtree Dunwoody right across from Children's Hospital. Her office is wonderful and the staff is amazing. My daughter is also 3 and she has had some dental issues. We went to another dentist and I was uncomfortable with their treatment plan. Our pediatrician recommended Dr. Lee and I was so GLAD. She really listens to parents and children. She is also a mom of, soon to be, 3 kids so I really respect her opinions. I can't stress enough how great we think she is! Here is her info:

I absolutly LOVE Dr. Ted Aspes. He is in Marietta on Concord and Hurt Rd. He is a pediatric dentist and all of his staff is great! It is VERY kid friendly and the dental chairs are so small they are adorable. This was the first dentist we took my oldest son to (he was 4 now he's 7) and I thought we would have to drag him out of there!. Another plus is he was Julia Roberts pediatric dentist.

I just took my daughter to Dr. Aaron Schwartz in Smyrna. We live in Marietta, and my general dentist recommended his office. Funny enough, he visited where I work at Primrose Schools to speak to my students very recently. WOW. He taught me so much about how to take care of my daughter's teeth, what to prepare for, how to prevent injuries (she is almost 2). The entire office was totally impressive. I would definitely check out his office if you are looking for a great pediatric dentist and live in Marietta, Smyrna, Vinings, or Atlanta.

Hi C. -

There is a great new pediatric dentist in Dunwoody Village. Her name is Dr. Christine S. Scott. My daughter (3 1/2) loves her. The practice is small so they really personalize their visits (i.e. which video to play during their cleaning); her entire staff is so nice and very professional. Dr. Scott shares her office with an orthodontist - which will probably come in handy in the future.

Dr. Scott is also a mom with 2 young girls; so I could related to her well.
