Several people in the cube world are sick right now. One particular lady is cough a lot! Of course, she has no children and I have 3. When we get sick it goes around for awhile, but she is just hacking into her computer and not bothering to cover her mouth. No elbow, no hand nothing! Is there a tackful way of to say something?? Even in a round about way?

What can I do next?

I'm so not tactful when it comes to that kind of stuff. Every time she coughs I would say "Cover your mouth please" or "Cover your cough" or "Coughing spreads germs, please cover yours." When she gives you nasty looks say "Oh, I'm sorry..I'm used to telling my kids that all the time." And just keep telling her to cover her cough. Hopefully she'll get it eventually. It's so so so gross and spreads germs all over the place.

When it involves your children and your overall health, I don't think it would be rude to say, "Hey _____, I know it's hard with all the stuff going around right now, but do you think you could start coughing into your sleeve? I'm trying really hard to stop bringing home colds and bugs to my children who need to stay healthy for school/daycare."
Make sure you ask her to cough into her SLEEVE because coughing into a hand doesn't stop the germs from flying free.
Good luck!

OMG, do you work where I work??? There have been several cubies here who came to work absolutely SICK SICK SICK. Two of them have NO kids, so I know they don't understand what happens when they are so inconsiderate. Put a bottle of hand sanitizer on her desk, and spray lysol disinfectant around your cube whenever she coughs. You need to protect yourself girl! Don't know that you can control her...

Do you have a human resources department to do frequent reminders for people to cover their cough? Otherwise, I like Denise P's suggestion!

Funny story, I went to the Dr. today for severe sore throat....no cough....the receptionist made me wear a mask and I was in the waiting room full of people hacking up their lungs WITHOUT MASKS!!! Haha! Now I feel better after ranting! :)
You are right to be concerned! I wish I had better advice.....mabey just being direct is the best choice.
