My seven month old is generally a very happy baby. Recently she has been struggling, mostly at night, with screaming fits. She had her flu shot on Friday, so I am wondering if that could be the issue? Has anyone else had this experience after a flu shot and how long did it last?
I am also wondering if she could be teething? I looked at her gums, I don't really see anything. She is drooling, but not a lot and she is not really trying to bite things (anymore than usual :)).
I am very concerned because she is not just crying, she is SCREAMING. I will go in her room at night and try to comfort her by patting her back, it takes a long time to calm her down and the minute I leave she screams so loud! It kills me!
Any thoughts, advice, anything would be much appreciated!
It sounds to me like she may have an ear infection. My daughter was the exact same way. She would be sound asleep on my shoulder and the minute I'd lay her down in the crib she would scream and cry at the top of her lungs. I'd take her in to the pediatrician to have them take a look. Good luck.

Sounds much more like Night Terrors- very common in this age group.

I had the same reaction from my baby after he had his 6 mos. shots. He screamed that night for over 4 hours and he had never done that before. However, the next day he was fine. The doctor said he probably had pain at the site of the shot. Also, if you think it might be teething, try to treat the teething and see if it gets better. You can try cold wet rags, teething tablets, tylenol, or anything you feel comfortable with. If this helps the crying, then you know it's the teething. Good luck, I know this is very stressful when your baby cries for hours.
My son had a similar night time episode. He is 8 months and has been a very good sleeper for 6 months now. One night about 4 weeks ago, he woke up crying and didn't stop for about 6 or 7 hours. He finally slept for few hours after we gave him some motrin... I too thought it could be teething. I was so concerned I got him a doctor's appointment the following day. He had a double ear infection.... our first of now three!
Motrin seems to help with the ear pain. I would have her checked out by your pediatrician. I kills me too to see little ones suffer.
