Cool Mist Humidifier Suggestion

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good, reasonably priced cool mist humidifier with replaceable filters? I just threw our First Years/First Aid one from Target out after not being able to easily find replaceable filters, and am needing another one to replace it for my two year old (and eventually a newborn come the fall). I'm willing to pay a little bit more for something of worth/good rating, review, etc., and one that would last more than just a couple of years. If anyone knows of anything of the sort, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance.

G.,

We have a Crane Cool Mist that does not require a filter- works really well- Babys-R-us has them online for $40. Only complaint is taht you can not let water sit for days at a time- but I just empty it daily and have had no problems with it. Also comes in neat animal shapes- panda, elephant, pig, ect- also just a plain drop design.

G.,

Both my Mom and I have the Vick's Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifer, and we LOVE them, they have a demineralization filter which I have found at all the stores that carry the humidifers, but that is the only filter to replace and its an easy one to do! They are a little loud, but not much more than a white noise machine or fan.. so the noise to me is soothing especially at night.. they are priced around $50 and replacement filters run about $15.. But its comes with your first filter so if you use distilled water you don't have to worry about filter replacement for about 6 months! Good luck in your search!

We have been very happy with our Kaz Evaporative Humidifier. Been using if for many years, replacing filters as needed. Easy to order replacement filters by calling an 800#. Don't remember the cost, but I know it wasn't all that much. Very quiet unit.

Hello,

I know that Vicks makes a cool mist model with filters. I have now gone through two Vicks humidifiers and my major complaint is that they are not very quiet. They are also not easy to clean, but I think that most of them are a hassle.

They one I have now is awesome, but it was pricey...$170.00. It's made by Air O Swiss (model 7135), and it does both warn and cool mist. I like it because is has a humidistat, and my favorite things is that it's SILENT!!! The only noise I hear is a little water trickle once in awhile. I have had it for a year and it's been great. I liked it so much that I bought one for our room as well as our son's. I know they sell the Air O Swiss brand at Bed Bath & Beyond, but I don't know if they carry this model. They do sell the filters though. You can check it out on the Air O Swiss website.

Good Luck!
A.

We like our Reli On #H-0695 Ultrasonic. No extra filters required. Easy to clean...just use bleach water to rinse out the water tank once a week and a white vinegar and water solution is used to wipe out the base unit. Lots of clean water to rinse. It does have a demineralization cartridge that is recommended to be replaced every 240 hours/45 uses but to be honest I replace it once a year because we only use the humidifier when our kiddos are sick. Hubbie purchased this beauty from Walmart.
