It has cleared up with the neosporin and lots of prayer! she never needed to see the doctor because it started receeding the next evening thanks for all the advise!
so far i called my doctor's assistant and i explained everything and im still waiting to hear back. I still havent heard back so im taking her in to the after hours clinic thanks for all the advise!
I had this exact same thing on my legs as a child. It is most likely a staph infection and I am a carrier. Take her to the doctor for medicine and DON'T TOUCH THE SORE! It will eat away at her flesh and cause tissue loss. I have a nice dime-sized scar on my calf from it.
I would say if it is not spreading then it is not a spider bite. However I get things like that in places that get hot and sweaty often like under my arms or in the creases of my legs. I think it is a hair folical irritation, kinda like an ingrown hair without the hair. Some people call them boils. Just keep them clean.
It sounds like a spider bite rather than a mosquito bite. I would definatley take her in to her pediatrician to have it checked out.
Hi J.!! My opinion is that it is infected, but I will still take her to the doctor to make sure. Now after that I recommend you go to your Wal Mart pharmacy and ask for some PRID. It comes in a lil' orange can. They do not have it on the shelf, they keep it behind the counter. My son had a brown recluse bite. We did antibiotics for a few days, seemed like weeks. Nothing happened, it got ALOT worse. It got so bad that we were actually seeing the flesh rot off. A lil' old woman told me to go get some of this PRID. I didn't believe her at first, but she insist I try it. At that point I had nothing to lose. So I got some. I also bought some bandages ( not band aids, but the bandage and bandage tape). I put some on his toe and the bandage itself. I changed it every 6 hours. Whenever the bandage started looking gross from him playing. I kid you not within a few hours his toe had improved. What it is is a drawing salve. I use it on everything and anything. My husband had a ingrown toe nail, it worked to clear that up. My daughter had a splinter that I couldn't get without putting her into pain, it helped pull that out. I hope this helps you. Good luck and let us know.

My daughter is allergic to mosquito bites depending on the mosquito. Our doctor gave us a steroid foam to put on the mosquito bites, so that this won't happen. I would contact your doctor because at this point your daughter may need antibiotics. If the redness starts to spread at all make sure to get her into a doctor ASAP.
It is best to have such a thing looked at. It could be that your child is allergic to mosquito bites. Usually a mosquito bite does not cause pus to appear unless the child scratched the bite and got it infected. It sounds more like a spider bite though. A Brown Recluse bite is the most dangerous and does the most damage in a short amont of time. If it was a brown recluse and you released the pus that could spread the infection more quickly. Check online for more information due to Brown Recluse bites. Contact your doctor and schedule an appt. right away. Be sure to tell them you suspect a Brown Recluse bite so they can get you in immediately.

I watched a little boy last fall that had this exact thing you are discribing and it was a staff infection, he is a carrier of it. He had quite a few incidentswith them. The Dr gave him a prescription for amoxicilian and also some cream I believe it was called bactroban also the had my friend out neosporin on it covered with a band aid. If this is that make sure you wash you hand carefully and throughly, do not let her touch it. This is very serious if it is this. Make sure you do not have any cuts on your hands or anything like this. We went throught this alot this past year until his mother quit her job to stay home with them she had twins in November. It also could be a spider bite. I would defintiely have it looked at to make sure. I'm not trytin to scare you, but I have a whole lot more I could tell you if indeed it is a staph infection. By the way we all carry staph but it's when you get a bite of somekind is when they can flare up. W.
Hi my name is N. and it sounds like the mark that was left on my son and it was from a spider and I would tell you to take her to the dr and have it looked at because my sons was from a fiddle back spider and they had to give him meds
I would take her to the doctors. It sounds like a spider bike. A Brown reclusive bite will swell up and it is very dangerous.
Go to the web and look up spider bites. It shows pictures of different bites. I personally would take my child to the doctor just to play it safe.

I would have a doc look at it as well. My 2 year old had the same thing a month ago and they think it was staph or strep. They just gave him a cream and it worked great!
I would have a doctor to look at it, better safe than sorry, but from our camping trip last weekend i got a few tick bites that i've scratched probably to much and they are EXTREMELY red and warm to the touch around it and do have some pus on a couple of them so that might be another possibility. It sounds like a bug/mosquito bite to me. My daughters sometimes get those this time of year. Benadryl is the best thing I've found so far. You can use liquid and cream if it's really bad. Sometimes it's just an allergic reaction to a bite.
Glad you're going to the doctor, I was 10 years old, spider bite on the back of my knee and I came very close to losing my leg (sort of a freak thing, I was really allergic to that small spider)
ALways take those thing seriously, I know I do.
Besides the bug bites mentioned, you may want to research Chicken Pox. 15% of kids are likely to get chicken pox between their 1st and 2nd vaccination, so your child may be one of them. Usually if a child has has the first shot, then the outbreak is minor (1-20 spots, etc.)

It is possible that it is a spider bite. However, I will tell you that my 16 yrold daughter has had bad reactions to mosquito bites since she was a little thing. It would pus up in the middle just like you explained. Turns out that the itching from a mosquito bite is an allergic reaction and some people are more allergic than others. Her pediatrician told me to give her Benadryll for the itching and neosporin and a band-aid for the (what had become)sore. To this day she gets infected mosquito bites that look nasty. I hope this is of some comfort.
It could be a bite or a staph infection. You should call your doctor's office and ask them about it.
I would take her to the doctor, I got stung last year on the back of my leg and at first it was no big deal I have been stung before. But after 2 days it had a huge area all around it that was really red and super hot. I went to the doctor and it turned out to be cellulitis, a staph or strep infection. This was caused by the sting, when whatever stung my it had staph or strep infection on it and when it punctured the skin it infected the area. I had to get on antibiotics and was fine an a couple of days.
It could just be a bug bite, but I would go to the doctor anyway. It is better to be safe than sorry the worst they are going to tell you is that it isn't a big deal and don't worry.
