Hi N.. I would wait another week or two and then test again. When I was pregnant, the hpt showed negative when I was two weeks late. The third week at the dr it was positive. Good luck!

Hi Nithya!

MR is right, just wanted to add in addition to possibly stress changing cycles, some people just don't pass the urine tests. Give yourself some time and if you don't get it within a month, go see your doc, you may need a blood test to confirm, or the doc can see what's causing the delay in your cycle.

In the meantime, if you don't take vitamins, it'd be a good time to start, just in case. :) In the early phases of pregnancy so much is forming with the baby (especially the brain, nervous system & other organs) that lack of nutrition can cause problems, so get a good vitamin, eat lots of green salads & be patient with your body.

If you are trying to get pregnant, even if you're not this round, talk with your doc about a good prenatal vitamin, you can start early to prevent some health issues for your baby. I'm perpetually on high folate prenatal vitamins thanks to my daughter's cleft palette.

Good luck!
D.

Usually the first day after your missed period will yield a positive pregnancy test. It's been a week so it is likely that you're not pregnant. Be patient and test again in another week.

The food cravings and the missed period could also be attributed to stress, change, medication, etc. In other words, a LOT of things besides pregnancy could be causing the delay.

With both of my pregnancies, I didn't get a positive pregnancy test until I was about 4 weeks late. I'd just wait a couple weeks, test again and if it's still negative, go see your doctor.

Hi N.,
I found that I had to take several tests before I got that positive result. Try to wait another week or so and then retest. Good luck!

I would wait another week, then make an appointment with your doctor for blood work. If you call now they may make you wait anyway.
Good Luck

Hi N.,
In my experience you can have a false positive outcome on a pregnancy test- which means the test would say negative, but you can still be pregnant. I would suggest finding a clinic that does blood testing, or just waiting another week and taking an over the counter test again. I hope this helps! :)
blessings,

HI N.,

Your period could also be late coz of the hormonal changes in your body. It's better to perform the test after 2 weeks of you missing your period. Do you notice any change in your waistline? My size changed within three weeks and I never doubted pregnancy then...:) All the best for a happy pregnancy...:)

Congrats N.! I'll bet you are. I had the same experience. I went to the pregancy testing centers where they told me they weren't sure, and that if I was I was going to lose the baby because my levels were so low. Well, My gut told me otherwise, and I have my 3 yo to show for it! Just try testing again in a few weeks. Sometimes the level tested to determine pregnancy is just too low when you are so early in the pregnancy. I hope you're ready! Babies change your life for the better!

You can test and get an accurate result as long as you wait 2 weeks after you miss your period. When you test, test in the morning with first morning's urine. If the result is still negative, contact your doctor.
