Does anyone have a good recommendation for a top-notch caterer. I am looking for someone who can caterer for my son's 2nd birthday party Saturday, June 2nd. We are hoping to do tex-mex. Alternatively, has anyone had any experiences using a local restaurant for a order (to accomodate 20 people) like this? I am wondering how the typical neighborhood Anamia's might do with such a large request to go?
K.: For my husband's bday party I used On the Border Catering. I found it affordable and easy. They brought it to my house and set it up real nice with chafing dishes that stayed warm and they decorated the table with colored fabric. Then they came the next morning and picked it all up dirty. You really need to eat at the restaurant you are considering for they can be so different. Fajitas are not that different but when you get into the salsas, chips and other types of dishes they can be as different as day and night. For example, some of these that have been mentioned, I would not go back and eat there. I do love Mattitos and Abuelos but it all depends on what you are wanting to order and your own personal tastes. Have you been to Guero's? They're right at Macarthur and Belt Line. They're my favorite Mexican restaurant and they cater. Maybe you and the family can eat there and see if you like it? And, if not, I think Anamia's could do it very well.

We had Posado's cater our company Christmas party. They brought fajitas and all the fixins. It was really good food and pretty reasonable, too.
I have used Luna de Noche several times for parties. I have also been a regular customer at the restaurant since the original one in Garland opened almost 10 years ago. They are wonderful and I will use them again. Here's the web site for more information:
I don't know where you are located. But, my favorite Tex-Mex place is Mattito's. They are located in the uptown area and they are great. They cater but they also have large party rooms.
Have you checked out On the Border? I work alot and we cater them in for our lunch in my dept sometimes. We usually do fajitas with all the fixings, chips, salsa, guac etc. I think they are pretty reasonably priced too, and they deliver to our office.
I've never catered Tex-mex, but I've had Red,Hot and BBQ cater 2 parties I've had. I love them and I think the BBQ there is pretty good for a chain.

Cantina Laredo and even Taco Cabana would goo dplaces to check into. Anamia's...delicioso!! that is a great idea!
I went to a party at a friend's home and they had ordered from La Hacienda Ranch and it was awesome. They had the fajitas, and I was really impressed with everything they had.

I would highly recommend Anamia's. I used them when I was tasked to put together our department Christmas Party, and they were wonderful. I ordered the party trays, and they let me make some minor adjustments to the trays themselves so that everyone was happy.

I have used 7 Salsas and it was just as awesome as eating in the restaurant. It is located in Coppell on Denton Tap Rd. They do not deliver, but it is well worth it.
