Hello All,

Just wondering if any of you can help me out. For the last 3 days about every 15-30 min I have a stabbing/burning pain in my lower right abdomen. It only last a couple of seconds but its pretty consistence. I haven't had any luck on the internet with this. Any ideas will help before I call the Doc & he orders a bunch of test. I'm due to start any day so I'm thinking about waiting to see if that has anything to do with this. It would be quite exciting if I was pregnatsence we've been trying for 3 years. I have had 2 miscarrages. So this sorta scares me. Thanks for listening.

What can I do next?

I would get to the doctor's office right away. Your lower right side could mean your appendix...the last thing you want is for that to rupture.

It also could be an ectopic pregnancy, which could also rupture, your fallopian tube.

I hope I'm not scaring you too much, but stabbing pain is nothing to ignore. Get into the doctor's office and have them check it out.

Best of luck - let us know what they say.

I would get to the doc right away. My first thought is maybe its your appendix. It can cause pain several days before it ruptures.

Have you been to webmd.com? I easily found a abdominal pain checklist of yes/no questions. They also have a symptom checker area.

I had lower right pain once, but the spasms would last a lot longer than a couple seconds. It turned out to be an ovarian cyst. No biggie.

I would take an early pregnancy test as well.

I am sorry for your pain, but you need to call your doctor..
Richard is right...we are here to support you, but I hope you do not take anyone's advice here for valid medical advice, except to call your physician right away.

this could be nothing at all, or it could be something that needs to be treated urgently, but only a doctor who evaluates you in person can make that call.

Please let us know what happens, you are in our thoughts!!

hopefully it is nothing serious, and I hope it is the pregnancy you are wishing for, but if it turns out that it is not, you should to go to the doctor very soon, it could be your appendix or gallbladder problems. It's better to be safe and get everything checked out. Good Luck :)

I'm hoping by now you've seen your doc? I would also say an ovarian cyst or kidney stones. I've had a plethora of ovarian/bladder/kidney fun and it sounds like one of my adventures. All no big deal if treated properly, so if you haven't gotten to your doc, do it ASAP. Good luck and tell us what happened!

It could either be couple things this may sound gross but when last have you had a bowel movement. Check by using some laxatives to have a Bowel movement, or you may be having an appendix problem.
Check you Dr. andsee what they say but make sure you drink plenty water to flush your bladder

Hi, this could also be gastritis. That can be painful too.

Heather,

I'm a nurse. I understand your hesitency to have a lot of tests done, but you really need to call your doc's office. You could just talk with the nurse and sort of get a feel for what you should know and do. If the pain becomes severe or you have a fever or bleeding, you really need to seek medical attention immediately. Good luck to you and God bless.

Heather,

I am not sure if this will apply, but before I was pregnant with my first child, I had similar pains. My husband wouldn't let me fly to TX without seeing the doctor, so we went to the ER the night before our flight. Luckily for me, it was just an ovarian cyst which passed with my next cycle. My sister also had a cyst issue, but hers ruptured and caused a twisted ovary. I would definitely talk to your doctor and let them run tests. You wouldn't want to prevent yourself of any more little ones because a test wasn't run. My sister conceived a month after her ovary was untwisted and the other cysts removed.

Good luck!
B. :-)

It can be anything...small or big. You certainly don't want an acute problem if one can be avoided. A dr. generally can feel around and have some idea where the pain is originating from - any test that he orders won't be in vain. There's no need to keep your mind in a state of needless worry. Prayers to you...please update and I hope that (yes!) it's just gastritis!

Check for ovarian cysts.
They are very common and usually grow a little and then break. When this happens the fluid leaking out and cause some burning. you can check this out with and ultrasound or a CAT Scan.

hello
could be lots of things see your doctor
sounds like mine a few years back, and it turned out to be cysts, I had pain off and on and then one night it was unbearable, . . . Unfortunately, I was misdiagnosed with stomach flu. . . two days later I went to another doctor who did an ultrasound and found out I had cysts and one of them ruptured that night but the fluid was stuck
not cancer just one of those things that you need help from a doctor.
good luck

please go to or call your doc asap! You do not want to take the chance of possible appendicitis or it could be a uti(urinary tract infection). but to rule this out you need to see your doc. A uti untreated becomes a bladder infection which can lead to an kidney infection. get a check up now.
