BPA Bottles

We have the Born Free bottles, and they are great!!! They come in 6 oz and a much bigger one, and my breastfeeding baby has had no problems. We only own four of them and keep rotating and washing out, and they are in great condition after 6 mos. of use.

It's scary about BPA, so good for you doing your homework before your babe is born:)

I bought the Medela bottles when my daughter was born 4 months ago, and they were okay, but the nipples collapse. They also only come in a 5-ounce size, and we now need bigger bottles. After reading reviews on babiesrus.com, I decided to get the 8 oz Evenflo Classic bottles, which are PBA free. They are tinted plastic in cute colors. The nipples do not collapse, and best of all, they are very inexpensive. A pack of 3 sells for $2.99 at both babies r us and Target! I've only had them a few days, but I'm very happy with them. They are simple, but they do the trick! Best wishes to you!

Here is a site that you can actually click on the brand names and it will list which of their products are BPA free and which of their products have BPA. Just because they have pacifiers that are BPA free does not mean the bottles are and vice versa. It has been a very helpful source for my 8 month old's needs.

Do you mean BPA-free? If so, I would suggest the new Dr. Browns that are BPA free. They are supposed to be just like the old Dr. Browns and we LOVE them.

Also, I just was talking to the daycare place and glass bottles are not allowed at our KinderCare. The risk of them shattering is an issue. So, if you are looking at glass bottles and use daycare - be sure to ask.

I've used glass with both of my kids and will with my third coming up as well. I still liked the nipple and features of the Dr. Browns and Podee Bottles, so I would use the insides with the glass. My father worked for BP in their plastics division and told me years ago not to use any plastic products for food if possible.

We don't use daycare, so the glass isn't an issue in that regard, but we've never had a bottle broken. I usually use a bottle snuggie (like those for beer bottles) to protect it once they are holding their own bottles.
