Can the pill cause anxiety and pms to be worse than usual? Ive been back on the pill for a few months now and feel more stressed and on edge than ever before. Ive been on the pill before many years ago, at least a few different brands. After having my second child recently and being on a different pill again I wonder if it could be causing me to be extremely more moody than usual.

What can I do next?

oh yes...the pill (though some were worse than others for me) messed up my moods terribly and it's the main reason I will never go on them again. Definately try a different one to see if it helps. Good luck. Hormones are POWERFUL (whether we make them or take them!).

Hello J.! I had been on the pill for years before having my son. When I started back on the pill I wanted to try YAZ because my friends were raving about how it lessened their cramps, moodiness, bloating, length of period... everything. So... i thought it must be great. The first thing i noticed was the length of my period was shorter and i had very little to no cramping and back ache... BIG change for me! But I was extremely aggitated and moody. It made me feel kinda anxious like you are mentioning. I dont know what type of pill you took... but i, too have been on several different types over the years and that is the only one that has ever effected me that way. :) Hope it helps. Good luck and congrats on the new little one!

I think having a newborn could be the reason you're feeling stressed and extemely moody. You could be suffering from post-partum depression. I suppose it could also be the result of being on the pill, but either way I would discuss it with my doctor and see what he/she thinks about it.

Do you happen to be taking Yaz? I did for almost a year before my husband made me stop taking it. I didn't notice it as quickly as he did, but it made me moodier and very prone to tears. I quit taking it and found myself cheery again almost immediately.

Sometimes the pill can wreak havoc on your hormones, and would likely be the culprit. However, being postpartum can be the culprit too. Add the two, and viola! Instant insanity! LOL There are even worse side effects to the pill, so it may be worth going off for a while and using something else, and see if it makes a difference. I had a friend that said the pill made PP time very difficult.

Yes, taking hormones can cause a variety of health concerns. Talk to your doc right away. I hope you start feeling better soon.

It can definitely do that to you! That is one of the main reasons I won't go back on the pill. It makes me a horrible person! You should definitely talk to your doctor and have a different pill prescribed. Good luck!

Yes diffinately. see your OB doctor right away to get the prescript changed to a different type or lower dose. When I had my 2nd daughter I went on bc pills and they were to strong causing me to yell at the kids and even hit them ,and I am not a child abuser but I sure felt like it,don't let it get that far go now there is a wide verity of pills or other aids. Don't keep taking something that is not agreeing with you.
