I am kinergarten teacher and one of my students last yr brought a thermos everyday with hot soup...always looked soo good! I think it was Thermos brand...it was very colorful, definitely for a child! Hope this helps.

The thermos wide mouth plastic one works well. Keep in mine thoughthat it can be tough to open. Soemthing about the heat creates a vacuum that makes it tough to open - especially for little ones. My kids became embarassed with hot food and only wanted sandwiches eventually. They do not like to be different in any way. Too bad since they missed out on mac & cheese and other yummy stuff!

Target has a nice selection by the camping area and next to the insulated coffee tumblers. I have a couple and they both work great. One is AThermos brand and the other is ? They come in different sizes too.

We have a few Thermos Foogo Leak Proof Food Jars with cool designs. Got them at Target. They are still working great- keep the food hot or cold, and are super cute and easy to wash. Since they are stainless steel inside, I don't have to worry about chemical leaching. Only downsides are upfront cost and a little heavy being metal. Worth the disadvantages. Highly recommend. Just remember that they keep stuff really hot, so put the food in at eating temperature if you don't trust your kids to cool it first!
If you are looking for a straw bottle, I don't recomment the Foogo one though, never liked it.
