Hello! I read my daughter a book about a ballerina from the library and ever since then she talks about being a ballerina. So, for her birthday present I wanted to enroll her in some ballet classes... she will be 3. Every place I call says she can't be enrolled until at least the summer. Does anyone know of a place in the Aurora, Oswego, Naperville area I can enroll her now? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi, since this would be her first experience... anything through the park district or YMCA would be good. Later on if she decides she likes it enough.... my daughters' go to Storm Dance Alliance in Oswego.

Check out your park district--generally less expensive, so a great place to see if it's a temporary interest or something more lasting.

You can try Moves in North Aurora (it is the old library)down by the river. They may let her start and you just would not be able to have her in the show in June because they probably ordered the outfits. My girls both loved their classes at that age. They will let you "try" a class before you sign up too. I am sorry I don't have the phone number handy. they are on rt 56 between rt 25 and rt 30

Hi, There are ballet lessons offered throught the park district. Fox valley park district has a really nice program and it is a great program. Also, there is Dance Storm Alliance and it is right on Rout 30 between ogden and Wolf Crossing (95th Street) next to Premiere Gymnastics. This place is very popular. I hope this helps.

It may be a little further than you want to go, but in case you can't find anything closer... The West Chicago Park District has ballet and tap lessons for 3 year olds. The teacher is terrific - a mom who knows how to keep little ones on track and having fun. Hope that helps!

Try Dancencounter. They are in north aurora on the corner of Mitchell and Butterfield road. They are currently in the middle of a session but it goes until sometime in June and they take enrollment anytime. The class your daughter would be in is called tiny toes (or you could do a mommy and me) We've been going there for 6 years and my kids love it! (dancencounter.com)

Have you tried Shiloh Studio in Aurora? I don't know what age they accept kids but a number of my friends have their children enrolled in dance there and love it. The location is the First Pres Church on Fourth St.

My daughter will be three in March, and will be starting ballet at Naperville's 95th street YMCA in April. I don't think they had a waiting list or anything.

My Daughter who is now 12 started at Bonnie Ardeleans when she was 3. Now, it is Stephanies academy of dance right off of Orchard in Montgomery. Stephanie opened up her own studio after Bonnie retired. She was stephanies instructor. I know that Lexie started when she was 3.

You are probably going to be out of luck and I am sorry. Every studio is getting ready for recital in June and 95% have already ordered costumes in December. Both my daughters have been dancing since three and unfortunatley that is how it works. You can ask the studio for trial classes to see if your daughter will even go. My oldest was fine from day one and that was 7 years ago and plans on going to Juliard, my youngest wanted to go so bad, and lasted two classes and wouldn't do anything. We pulled her out until she was 4 and then she was fine. You can also check your park district for classes and see if there is a ballet/tap/tumbling class that usually doens't do recital. Keep in mind are you ready to be a ballerina mom?
