Debbie Ruhde has been giving swim lessons for something like 20 years. She lives in Central Arlington, and her classes are usually about 5 kids (depending on age) and she offers a variety of levels...I think the price is something like 95$ for 2 weeks @ 45 min. per day...something like that anyway. The lessons are in her backyard pool. You can look her # up in the residential pages. If you use her, please let her know that K. Smay recommended her to you, as I don't know if she gives perks for referals. Hope this helps. Take Care! Email me if you want anymore info.

Try Different Strokes Swim School (www.differentstrokesswimschool.com). They offer backyard lessons and will coordinate with other clients if you don't have a pool of your own. They offer private, semi-private and small group classes using the American Red Cross program. I've had excellent results with my 3 and 5 year-olds.

I was going to refer you to Different Strokes as well. I've taken water aerobics classes through them at North Lake College.

Another option is to check with lifeguards at your local pools. Some of them may give lessons for extra money.

Hi Teresa,
Are you wanting someone to come to your house for swim lessons? If so that is what I do. I was a competitive swimmer in high school and college. I also taught swim lessons and coached for several years. Now that I have children of my own I do it on the side. If you are interested feel free to email me. ____@____.com

The YMCA of Arlington used to do swimming lessons at home. Call the Y and ask if they still do.
