Baby's Hair Is Growing in Diffrent Color.

My 7 month old daughter was born with a thick 'toupe' of dark brown hair on top of her head. The sides and back were much more sparse. I've noticed that the back and sides are now filling in with blonde hair! She never lost any hair at all from the time she was born. I'm just wondering if that is normal. Can I expect her to become blonde? Has anyone else had this happen?

What can I do next?

Hello, my neighbor's 1st daughter was born with a good head full of dark brown hair. She is now 4 and is the blondest little girl I have ever seen. It fell out and came back in blonde!

I do not have personal experience with this with my own children. However, my 4 1/2 year old has a friend in her preschool class who looks like her mom spends a fortune highlighting her hair. The little girl has has mostly reddish hair with blonde and brown "highlights" and I asked her mom if she highlighted her hair. She told me that her daughter's baby hair never fell out so the reddish color is still there while the new blonde & brown hair colors are growing in too. It looks beautiful!! I don't think it's that uncommon. Hope this puts you at ease.

My kids were baldies, but I had a friend who looked like her little girl died her hair black and then let it grow back in natural blonde, she had a distinct line where the black from hair she had when she was born and the new hair growth. Basically she had blonde roots! My girlfriend just tried to cut it so it was one color.

Hi J.,
My daughter was born with almost black hair and now it's such a light brown it's almost blonde. She had never lost any of her hair either, I think it's just a baby thing, but I would say she's most likely gonna be a blonde. At least for her first few years.

Hi J.,

My daughter was born with very dark brown hair. When she was about 4 months old, her hair just lightened into this really pretty auburn/red color. It didn't fall out first, it just changed all of a sudden. Her hair is still red and she's six now.

Yes her hair could turn blonde. Mine did. When I was born it was dark brown, and then it turned blonde. I'm not exactly sure how it happened, like if it all fell out or what. I have never asked my mom that (if she would remember). But I know that in pictures probably by the time I was a year old it was blonde.

My niece who is now almost nine was born with black hair. It went from black, to auburn, to blond. Now she still has blond hair. Her mom's hair is black, her dad's is blond.

yes it is completely normal...2 out of 3 of my girls had that..so you have nothing to worry about... I'd say if your older child is Blonde I would expect this one to be blonde as well. also if you and your husband have darker hair don't be surprised if it turns back when they are a little older.
