I really want to say sorry for not sharing my now two year old son's name until now. We decided to name him Jake Alexamder and I am so happy because his name truly match his personality.

My favorite boy's name is Jared but I don't think I would pair it with an A name since most A names start with the same short "a" sound in Jared and I think it sounds too "rhymey." If I had to work with JA, I'd likely pick Justin Alexander or Joshua Aaron.
Good luck and happy naming

The possibilities are endless... Whatever you decide, I recommend you wait until you see his little face in person. Sometimes the name you had planned just isn't it when you see him and talk to him. He may tell you something totally different altogether.

Congratulations and good luck.

That is really neat that you want the same initials. My son has my husbands first name as his middle name. As it turned out (not planned) all of my children's first names start with the middle initial of the one before them. I have Ryan Jonathon, Julia Claire and Caitlyn Danielle. I am really in trouble if we decide to have a 4th, because I can't find a name that starts with D that I like. I think finding a name is the hardest thing to do for a child. they will hae it their whole life. It is really hard now with the what I call "fad" names. some of them are great for kids, but not for adults. I am partial to the old time names. here are a few suggestions.
Jonathan Andrew
Jason Anthony
Jake Aaron
James Alxander
John Alexander
Jeffrey Adam
It is all a matter of taste. try looking back at family members and see if you can come up with a name from either of the families. Even if there was a female in either of your families that ment a lot to you can find the masculine version of their name. sometimes using a family name or a version of a family means a lot to the family and it makes the name more special. My older daughter's middle name is after my grandmom and my grandmom still cries everytime she hears my daughter's name.
Good Luck!!

Dear A., It is all in the name. Think of what attribute and image you want your son to follow. In the Bible you have many names of man who stand up for what is right and good. Your son will follow and be guided by his name all his life. Also others will associate him with his name. Love, B.

Skimming the earlier posts, I don't think I noticed Judah, Joel, Jeremy, Jeremiah, Jeffrey, and Jedediah (I'm not sure how that is usually spelled). I did notice, though, that many J names have standard nicknames. If you have strong negative feelings about the nickname, you might want to avoid the name. We didn't take that advice with our own son, but it was more important to us to name him after his great-grandfather.

I remember seeing Andrew and Alexander several times. There must be more good A names than just those. I'm mostly familiar with the (transliterated) hebrew names: Adam, Abraham, Aaron, Ari, Ariel (a boy's name in hebrew). Given that it will be a middle name, you could always have fun with it and go with something like Aramis.

The best advice, though, that I ever came across for baby names was this: Once you've picked a name, go to the back door and yell the name six or seven times. If you still like the name, it's a good name for your kid. I always laugh at that one, but it's so true.

Good luck.

How about Jared? I heard that name the other day.. and WOW it sounds so nice... How about jared andrew or Jared Anthony.... Sounds so nice.. hope you like it.. or the best one yet.. JARED AUSTIN... that sounds so Lawyer like.. with a name like that your child will go far...

When we were having a boy.. I couldn't find many names I likes.. I only found the ones that started with J.. that I really loved. We named our son Justin Lee. Justin is a wonderful name. How about Justin Alexander or Justin Andrew.. they sound like someone who will go far in life.. like maybe a Lawyer... I also love Jake, John Anthony, John Andrew, James Andrew ..... I hope you love these names too.. Your baby will be wonderful with whatever you pick. Good luck.. and let us know what you choose when the big day comes... one other James Austin - sounds like a strong name.

Hi A.,

My husband and I scanned lists of hundreds of names on the internet. In the end, we chose the one we already had in mind but the lists reassured us that we had our favorite.
It helped to choose the name early to have time to sit with it awhile.

Dear A.,

I think it depends on the style of names you like. Here are a few suggestions, based on different naming styles:

Classic: James Andrew
Sporty/trendy: Jackson Archer
Biblical: Josiah Asher
Artsy: Jasper August
Espanol*: Joaquin Amadeo

I know this is a language, not just a style, but I didn't want to just list English-language names....

Best of luck with everything! Email me if you want more suggestions.

Well, there are alot of great names for J....Jordan, Joshua, Jason, Jayden, Jonathan, Jackson, Jacob to name a few of my favorites....as for an A middle name, it depends on how it roles with whatever first name you pick but I like Alexander or Andrew with most of the ones i mentioned above. Try to pick something that is a strong name, one that you can see yourself calling your son as he grows older. Good luck!

OK, here we go...
MY daughter is named JORDAN which is a unisex name and anyone we meet has a BOY named Jordan (go figure!!)

Jacob/Jake has always been a favorite!!

Aidan was a name we liked also as we wanted something unique but at the same time not "way out there" !!!

You don't mention if there are religious, ethnic backgrounds to consider...

There are websites that I visited with my 3rd (named Evan!) and found names I never heard of that flowed very nicely!!

Good luck to you :)

Hi! My one son is named Jason Andrew so I have to say I am partial to that name. He was named after his father too. My other son's name came from taking family members names we like and just changing them a bit to a name we both liked. Even though we had ideas of what names we wanted, I still got a baby names book that gave me all of the names and meanings and that actually helped too.

Funny, we named our son the same initials as my husband! And my daughter's initials are the same as mine!

I am not really into trendy names, but here are a few suggestions:
My father is John Anthony
I also like James Allen (Alan), Joseph Andrew, Jack Alexander (or any combination you might like)

Yo may decide after you see him. That's what I did with both my children.
