Does anyone have experience with an art class in the Manassas area that accepts preschoolers? My 3 1/2 year old has a great interest in art would draw, color, paint and sculpt all day if I let her. She is advanced for her age in this area and I would love to take her to an art class where she could enjoy some age-appropriate instruction and explore new things. We'd be willing to drive a short distance, not more than 20 miles. Any recommendations?

The Gymboree in Chantilly has a WONDERFUL program. You can request a free preview to check it out.

My 20-month old loved the art class that is offered at Gymboree. They are located throughout northern VA and I believe the class was no longer than 30-40 minutes. They did art, story time and snack time. The cost is $77/month, but Gymboree always welcome a free trial class. Their website is http://www.gymboreeclasses.com.

Ben Lomond Community Center (right in the heart of Manassas) has art classes (and other classes--dance, music) for preschoolers. I did some kind of edible art class with my two year old before she was eligible for preschool, and it was fun.

I'm not in your area, but do look at your county recreation centers. Ours (Fairfax Co.) had loads of art classes for young children. Probably you can see the county parks and recreation department catalog online. These classes were good and much cheaper than the pricey ones on offer from some private firms. Have fun!
