Appropriate Age to Go See the Wiggles Concert?

My daughter turned 2 a couple months ago, and loves the wiggles. I was thinking of taking her to see them in concert in August, but my dh thinks she may be too young to enjoy it or sit through it. Also, the prices I've seen are $50 and up, so I don't want to waste money. Has anyone taken their kids?
Also, I'm not sure if I buy a ticket for her, or if she's young enough to where they'll let her sit in our laps.

What can I do next?

R was 4 when we saw the wiggles and he lasted but had moments of boredom! try to find cheap seats, enjoy yourself, but don't be surprised if you have a wiggler on your hands.

I took my son when he was 3 and MOST of the other children there were younger than he was. He still talks about that concert and how much he enjoyed it. All of the children really loved it.

I'm not sure about the lap question...my guess would be probably not..since this is the age group they are targeting.

We took our son when he was that age. He also LOVED the Wiggles. He enjoyed it, and he made it through most of the concert just fine- keep in mind that he is an EXTREMELY active boy and sitting for anything more than 20 or 30 minutes was a feat for him at that age. I think the concert was around 2 hours long, and he was a little restless the last 1/2 hour of it. However, he was very tired and had not had a nap yet. We went to the early afternoon show because he does not wake up happy and figured he would be more difficult to deal with on a short nap versus just taking a later nap. All children over 12 months of age require a ticket, so your daughter will need one. I would take her, I think she will enjoy it. The only thing we found was this- tickets are very expensive and so we got the "cheap seats" (which were around $50 a ticket); my son enjoyed the show, but the Wiggles were so far away on the stage, that he just watched the jumbo screen so it wasn't that much more than just watching a video on TV for him. However, if you sit on the floor, the characters usually come out and interact with the audience so it's more of an experience. That's the only recommendation I would make is that if you can afford the tickets, spring for the floor. If not, it's still a fun memory to have to go see the Wiggles live.

We took our son last year, he was 2 1/2. Ha had a great time. I was nervous that he wouldn't last, but it was no problem at all. I am taking him again this year along with my daughter who is 1 1/2. So yes, I think you should take her. You WILL need a ticket for her though. They require it. I know it is expensive, but at least in my case well worth it.

We took my son when he was 2 and we were 4 others the same age. They were totally involved with the concert. We sat three rows from the stage. The kids danced and sang. There baby-sitter had been playing the Wiggles songs at her house during music time so the kids were very familiar with the music and whom the Wiggles were.

It is completely up to your child's ability. If you think that in a couple of months your roughly 2 1/2 year old will enjoy the concert and it's something you want to do then go for it. I took my 2 1/2 year old to see The Imagination Movers and tickets were around $50 but it was worth it because she had a blast! It was totally a rock concert for the 5 and under crowd.

As for the free seat for your child you have to call the actual facility holding the event. It is typically at the discression of the venue to decide if a child is free or not. In our case it was not based on age or seats but anyone breathing entering the performance area had to have a ticket. I think there might have been a few exceptions for the very very very newborn group but other than that if you were breathing you were paying. I also packed snacks and drinks in my diapers bag and took a favorite toy to defuse any issues that might come up. I just knew that if I was going to pay that much then we were sticking it out to stay.

If you decide to go I wish you the best of luck and I hope your daughter has a wonderful time.

I took my son when he was 2 & 3. He absolutely loved it although he will never admit it now (he's 7) We had to buy him a ticket and most of the time he was either on my lap or dancing on floor. Call the venue to check though ya never know.

We took my daughter at 18 months to go see the Imagination Movers. She loved most of it... She was done before the encore. Also, the music was a bit louder than necessary at Bass Hall. So that was a little overwhelming.

We purchased a ticket for her. I think because it is a concert for kids and a lot of them run around, you have to buy a ticket for her. Just call the venue and make sure that is the case.

My advice--don't buy your daughter a souvenir toy before the show. I didn't think of it being such a distraction to my 3 year old grandson until it was too late. He was so fascinated with the toy that he missed out on a lot of the concert!! Have fun!
