Dr. Riley in Fox River Grove misdiagnosed my daughter. She has lyme disease and he said she did not. Apparently he did not know where to send the blood work (a lyme lab) nor be able to read the results. We searched for two more years trying to figure out what was wrong with her. I went to see him and he gave me the same "diet" to use as my daughter, which he also did with my friend. From my experience he used the one size fits all approach.

Hi M.-I am a naturalist and holistic there are several ways that you can treat candida for you and your family yourself. It is simple to do. First of all your body's pH balance is too acidic, which most people are.

Anything type of medication-including over the counter medication, prescriptions and conventional food will compromise your body's natural flora. You first need to cleanse. Ifyou would consider colonics that is the best course. i can recommend someone. If not you can cleanse with herbs-in tea form and an eating regimen. Plus you have to alkalize your water--you would not believe how simple it is to do it!! And yes-you want to add probiotics but not until you have done some cleansing first.

It is a bit of an involved list and if you want more info let me know and I can recommend some products you can get online or in a health food store and some great books for reference material.

T.

If you want to see a Dr. he is both conventional and natural--he is great and is referred to here on mamsource quite often--Dr. Ettner out of St. Francis in Evanston-###-###-####

Check out Dr. Mercola. You can go to mercola.com. He's the best. Also, I go to HomeFirst in Rolling Meadows for my pregnancy, but they also have a pediactric practice, and they may have older patients as well. I'm not sure. But they're very naturopathic, with their own lines of vitamins/supplements, etc. You can find them at homefirst.com. Hope this helps!

Although you said you were looking in the NW Suburbs, Dr. Ridley, a
naprapath, has proven himself worth of trips to Chicago. His Phone # is
###-###-####. He is at the intersection of LaSalle & Chicago. He's VERY
easy to get into. You can call in the morning and get in for an appt in
the afternoon. He has cured me of IBS, lactose intolerance, and
infertility. He feels most of that stemmed from yeast overgrowth issues.
It's worth the trip downtown. I have friends who have seen other
naturopaths, such as Dr. Reilly, who have not seen the same results as with
Dr. Ridley.

Dr. Reilly in Lake Zurich. His website is www.docreilly.meta-health.com. He is a MD with a very holistic approach. He helped me with my yeast overgrowth problems with extreme diet change, lots of supplements, and some medication. I am thankful to say I've been better for a couple months after 9 months of issues after my son was born. Good luck - it can get better!
