Hey Ladies
Ok my kid is 2 and I am STILL Hanging on to those 7-10lbs from my pregnancy. I have tried cutting back on food a little bit, eating a big breakfast and very little at dinner etc....Im wondering if any of you did the Cabbage soup diet. I am not expecting to shed 10lbs in 7 days....but I am trying to get some encouragement on this...let me know your stories and if you were strict about the diet (did you cheat?) I am kind of cheating in the sense I am putting a tblespn of skim milk in my coffee with 1 sweatener because I NEED my coffee and can not drink it black
I am on day 2 and doing pretty good.(meaning I ma not hungry) I refuse to weigh myself until Day 7. Friday and Sat night I will probably have a glass of wine since we are going over to friends house, but otherwise I plan on sticking with the diet .
Thanks

What can I do next?

I did it years ago & was pretty strict. I actually liked the soup (i made i really spicy, i think). I did well on it. I can't remember how much I lost, but i know it was worth it.
Good luck!

I did the diet years ago and lost 60 pounds on it. I kind of tweaked it to fit my needs, but as long as you stick to it's principles, I found it pretty easy to do. I got really, really sick of the cabbage soup and found that it didn't really matter what type of soup it was, just as long as it was all vegetables (still no potatoes, corn, etc). I also did cheat and never did the 7th day like it said. I always made that my "whatever" day and ate whatever I wanted, but within reason. That way I didn't feel deprived throughout the week and I was ready to get back to business on Monday :) If you stick with it, it does work! It's not a lifestyle you want to keep for the rest of your life, but it taught me how to eat healthy, identify moderation and enjoy it.

I tried it. I was STARVING for a week, lost a few pounds, then it came RIGHT back on starting with day 8. Quick diets NEVER WORK!!

Doesn't work-well I guess it would if you could stick with it...its really hard though. Make the soup anyhow and substitute it in for lunch or afternoon snack. Its actually pretty good! I like the Good Housekeeping recipe.

If you really want to shed some pounds try limiting your carbs to around 60 (good carbs) a day. Cut out almost all fruit except maybe some berries. Eat a lot of protein and vegetables(watch carrots though). And fish. You will be surprised how well this works. And you can eat the soup!

It was really good the first day, ok the second day and by the third day I was already over it. If you can eat the same thing for that long, more power to you. I did much better on a South Beach Diet.

I did it and lost about 8 lbs. It makes you feel less hungry and I swear after doing it, I wasn't able to eat as much as before or I felt sick. I cheated because I have to have the morning caffeine too, so I wouldn't worry too much over that. I also ate salads if I was sick of the soup. Good luck!

I haven't tried it, but I'll tell you what did work for me. I had a slimfast type shake for breakfast and occasional coffee in the am, salad/veggies with lunchmeat and lowfat cottage cheese on top (no dressing) with a fruit and water for lunch, and a sensible dinner. I lost the 15 lbs. I had gained with my second with this "diet." I would sometimes cheat on weekends, but still watched what I was eating.

I did this diet a long time ago and it was the worst! The soup is good but there is nothing to it. You feel hungry all the time (at least I did) and I felt really tired on it. Had to stop it because I couldn't stand it anymore! My mom and I both did it. There was another diet I used to do every once in a while. It is a three day diet and you loose ten pounds in three days. I can't remember the name of it but that one works too but it is a rough three days!! Good Luck.
