Already? Really? Yes a Pregnancy Question.

I am between 6 and 7 weeks pregnant. My cycles are slightly irregular and I do not go in for my first appointment for another 1 1/2 weeks to get a clearer date by ultrasound. So I am just going with 6 weeks until I know better.

Anyways, this is technically my 7th pregnancy. I had a preemie and a full term baby, two very early miscarriages and two more miscarriages later in the first trimester. Just to give you some history in case it matters.

I have gained maybe a 1 -2 pounds, but I am blaming it on Halloween candy that I really should have said no too. However I look pregnant already and my husband agrees. Is this normal this early? I know I showed early with my last pregnancy, but 6 weeks give me a break. How am I supposed to hide this (and with my history I don't feel like letting everyone know at this time) for a little longer at this rate?

Questions:
1) Tips on hiding it. I don't wear tight clothes, but I don't have a ton of really baggy stuff either.
2) Normal to show this early with subsequent pregnancies?

Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

I was the same with this current pregnancy. I had to bust out the materinty shorts at about 8 weeks. I heard that it is not uncommon to show eariler with subsequent pregnancies but I was not prepared to have to start with the materinty clothes so early! Unfortunatly I don't have any tips on how to hide it as I was not able to hide mine. I am about 23 weeks now and look like I did when I delivered my son. I can't imagine how big I am going to be full term this go around.

I'm now almost 14 weeks with my 3rd and so look like I did with my 1st/2nd at 5/6 months. I too was obviously showing by 6 weeks, I've been told its normal and apparently it is. Most was bloating because by morning I didn't look obviously preggo, but by noon it was totally obvious. One of my good friends told me she really couldn't tell, so maybe its just that we know our own bodies and it totally seems/feels like we're showing.

I hid with sweatshirts, any type of zip up jacket (when I got hot I tried to wrap around the obvious baby bump). No one ever approached and asked, but after I announced many said they thought so, but didn't want to impose on me and say something. I was able to 'hide' until 12 weeks at which point there was really no way I could go out in public without being obviously preggo. Congrats too!

I was in materinty clothes by 6 weeks with my current (second) pregnancy. I'm 10 weeks now and have completely given up on hiding it. There's just no way for me.

If I were in your position, I might be focused on how best to respond to inquiries - "Yes, we are pregnant, but because of past difficulties we would rather keep this private as much as possible."

Yes, it's very normal!! It just happened to me! I'm currently 10 weeks but I was DEFINITELY showing at 6 weeks. (probably mostly bloating b/c the day I got pregnant my daily "healthies" ended and now I feel like I NEVER have a BM!) I know it's gross. But I definitely LOOKED pregnant! (and still do)
Congratulations on your pregnancy! As far as tips for hiding it - sweatshirts, fleece jackets, poofy vests. Don't keep the prenatal vitamins sitting out on your counter. :) Good luck with everything!!

I was obviously pregnant at 10 weeks with my number two and it was only my second pregnancy.. so yeah, it's possible. The doc told me my uterus just never went back to it's normal size so I started showing WAY earlier (with #1 you couldn't tell until like 6 months...). And I'm guessing you have no belly fat either so there's no hiding it.. luckily it's getting cold and sweaters are about to be a necessity so throw on a jacket and I doubt anyone will notice (and even if they do they probably won't say anything). Good luck! So exciting!

Very normal to show early with subsequent pregnancies. You are probably further along than you think given irregular periods. Water retention along with weaker abdominal muscles can make your tummy look pregnant sooner. Congrats on your pregnancy and best wishes! Nurse Midwife Mom of 3

1. its not too early to wear a belly band over your unbuttoned normal pants, its actually slimming

2.Totally normal.....actually youll probably lose a few lbs soon then put them back on.

I am also 6 weeks pregnant and this is only my second pregnancy. But yes, I feel like I am starting to show as well! With my first, I had a recognizable bump at about 16 weeks but my current bump could and probably does get mistaken for a fat belly.
