Ads Included in Box with the Answer

I'm having some difficulty with my phone so this may be happening only to me. For the last few days, included in the box along with the first post responding to the question is an ad. The words that allow us to give flowers is outside the box. Are you also seeing this change? The ad appears to be part of the response.

So What Happened?

I also noticed this started after the posts about ads. Putting one with an ad inside with a response does increase the chance we'll see it. I don't know if that's the reason but that explanation does fit.

it's happening to me too. it's not affecting my ability to give flowers, just the newest in MP's ongoing efforts to make this site unappealing.

ETA 2: Was curious if they would change, so I came back to look and they are gone, along with the flower line. Weird. Oh, wait. They'e back but different than the original ads, and flower line is gone----but that's because it's my own response.

ETA: Okay, there are some really strange ones appearing in my response now. I wonder if they change over time?

Yes, I noticed the same thing. I'm on the macbook air, so it's not just your phone. Every first response has ad attached to it, with the flowers line below the ad. I've also noticed more "Oops this page is unavailable" written on an all blue screen lately.

I'd be curious to know what methods these businesses are using to evaluate the effectiveness of these ads and now much genuine revenue they attribute to them. Everyone always says they never click on them or buy from them. I know I don't.

I've seen that on my laptop and phone.

I don't understand the change and I don't care for it because I dont support the links MMP chooses to tag on to my responses.

I would never, ever suggest to anyone on one of my responses to click on a link like that.

Hopefully they will fix it soon.

They show up on both my laptop and my iPad. Made me realize I don't want to be first responder to anything now because it looks like I'm pushing something.

I don't mind ads in the sidebar, but in the responses is tacky Mamapedia - shame on you!

I was just going to post this question myself. I see it on my laptop - it's not you, it's Mamapedia.

I'm seeing what you describe: the answer, then the ad within the box, and below that is the "save this/send a flower" line.

I've noticed that, often, the ad within the box has something to do with the person's answer or the original post. Maybe that's just a fluke. Today the ad is about reading glasses though,

Do you think this is because there was an exchange a while back about this site being free vs. the ads that pay for it???

I have not seen any of this, in fact I'm not entirely sure I understand exactly what you all are seeing. I am on a PC and I use Google Chrome with Ad Block and Ad block plus. Perhaps try that to solve the problem.

I think it's annoying but less so than the ones that take over the page. And I still ignore them.

I haven't noticed not being able to send flowers, but if the code isn't properly set up, it can "eat" the bottom of the post. So some of their ad code could be bad. It also depends on your recent searches. They will vary for everyone.

Just checking e-mail, mamapedia used to send me daily but now it's sporadic. And I scrolled to the bottom and aling with Julie's response is an ad for hylands natural teething gel. hahaha I was like what?? Yes I'm on my phone, hope it's a glitch that can be fixed & the ads just go back to the bottom of the page. grrr.

Yes, I'm getting those too. I was going to question it, but then thought it might have always been that way and I just never noticed. I would not want to be the first responder on a question either, because it looks like that poster is endorsing the ad (which I know they are not). A couple of them bothered me because it's a parent asking about an issue or problem with a child, and there's a birth control ad in someone's answer, as if they are promoting not having kids to avoid having issues with them. I can see how the wrong ad could be offensive in certain posts.
