My husband and I are taking 2 of my nephews (5 and 7) for the week next week. My husband is a coach and invited them to participate in his basketball camp that his high school host. They will be at camp from 8-12 and then I will pick them up and need to entertain them for the rest of the day. I am looking for some good places to take them in the late afternoon, evening to entertain them. Some place that won't be crazy packed, and somewhat affordable. Also maybe a good place to eat one night that is kid friendly or has a good deal. We don't have kids yet so give me some ideas ladies! Thanks!

I am sure that there are many more. Jasons Deli use to have a kids eat free or for .99 cents on Wendsdays. Dickies barbecue has a eat free on Sundays but the one on preston and Spring Creek kids eat free all of the time.
Try the splash fountains at The Village of Fairview for kids to run around and keep cool. I know the Dickeys in Allen has Kids Eat Fre everyday. Also, Jason's Deli has KEF on Tuesday nights and I think Tacone Grill (in Village at Allen) has it everyday after 3pm. McAllister's Deli in McKinney has $.99 kids meals if you dine in. Also check out the $1 movie theater in Plano at Coit and Park.
Well, it's obviously really hot outside, so maybe the Old Settler's Park pool which is a lot of fun for young kids, http://www3.mckinneytexas.org/www/parks.aspx?id=1812, and only costs $1.25 for children under 9. Or the Heard Natural Wildlife Museum and Sanctuary, which right now has a butterfly exhibit and robotic ice-age mammals exhibit, http://www.heardmuseum.org/theheard/index.asp. For indoor activities you can try Amazing Jakes at the Collin Creek Mall, http://www.amazingjakesplano.com/plano/, and the value packages include a buffet. And the Dallas Zoo is also good, although I'm not sure how late it is open (since you're looking for afternoon/early evening activities).
Celebration Park in Allen, 701 Angel Parkway. It's a great park and it has a splash park. Best of all it's free. I don't know how crowded it is in the afternoon, but it maybe worth looking into. Also, check aroundtownkidsfrisco.com. They have events all over not just in Frisco, but Frisco isn't that far. It has a calendar and you can see what events are going on. I know Strikz bowling alley in Frisco has cheap bowling for kids during the day.
