We had my 9 year old's party at Michaels. There is a craft room in the back of the store. We had to pick the craft (you can choose from easy (such as door knob hangers) to harder items (tee-shirts, jewelry boxes, aprons, etc) we chose to make aprons. The employee gathered all of the items beforehand and I put on tablecloths and brought the cake. The girls had a blast and they were able to just bring their party favors home (the aprons) I paid a $50 booking fee, then the amount for the supplies after the party is over (ended up being about $80 for 10 girls and a lot of paint). We could have a minimum of 5 girls and a max of 10. My M. and I were more involved at this party (not like just sitting and watching at Pump it Up) We washed brushes and stamps for the girls. It probably could have flowed easier if we had a different set up, like two pink paint brushes everyone could share instead of rinsing each girls brush when they wanted to change colors) but it was not a huge deal. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and it was a reasonable price!

What about Sunshine Glaze in Southlake. We went to a party there and the kids had so much fun. They each got to paint their own ceramic piece. Or what about Celebrity Bakery, they do birthday parties now. And Sweet and Sassy is a great idea.

There are tons of little tea rooms where you could have a cute little girly, girl tea party! You can go to www.teamap.com to read reviews of different area tea rooms. Into My Garden Tea Room is in Plano and I've heard great things about that place. www.intomygarden.com.

A friend of ours had a Wishes Upon Wishes party (she is on Mamasource) and it was great. They came and set up, entertained the kids and the kids had a great time. Don't know the cost, but you might check her party plan out.

do a tea party! Just have it at your house. Get some fancy boas from the craft store and some straw hats and fake flowers and fancy material and have everyone make thier own fancy costume or hat to wear. Have lemonade or tea or both(you can invite the girls mom's to come with them if you want) serve different types of sandwiches cut up in fancy styles like little triangles or if you have heart or flower cookie cutters, use those. serve fruit, cut up apples, strawberries and grapes. and find some other finger food that you can make fancy.
You can find plastic tea cups at party stores or go shop around antique stores for a nice set to use. You can server cake as a cake, or do cupcakes and have each one put on thier own sprinkles and decorations. It'll be a blast! I have done a couple tea parties with my 8 yr old girl and she loved it! If you need more ideas- read Fancy Nancy!
have fun!

I have been thinking about starting a home-based business of doing Double-Dutch Jump Rope parties. I coached my own daughter and her friends in jump rope from age 9 to freshmen year in high school. Our team competed in the Jr. Olympics twice! But since the girls have grown up (age 22 now), I find myself missing the sport. Your daughter and friends can learn the basics of turning long rope and doing some basic short-rope tricks in about 1 hour. Email me through Mamasource if interested and we could work out a price/day/time. You could be my first customer! Each guest could get their own short rope and the b-day girl could also get a set of double-dutch ropes from me. Watch this video for an idea of possibilities if they keep practicing for 2 years:

We actually just threw an American Girl party for my niece's 8 year old birthday at our house! It was a movie party, where the girls all brought their AG dolls. We did hair styles on the dolls before the movie (there is an AG hair style video that you can get). Then we popped popcorn and watched the latest AG movie about Molly in our media room. Then it was cake and ice cream. Afterwards, we made bracelets with beads for the dolls and girls. The party lasted about 3 hours and the girls had a ball! Decorations were all in red, white and blue and stars to tie in with the movie.

My daughter is a girly girl too. We just did her 7th at Build a Bear and it was a huge hit!

We're going to a 7th bday party at Sweet & Sassy next week. I have no idea how much their parties cost.

Another thing that seems to be very popular w/ her friends is slumber parties esp if they include make-overs.

L.,

Look into Paint 'n Party at Independence/Parker in Plano. My daughter had her 6th there and loved it! We had about 18 kids, and it cost just over $150 for full service (tip included). Worth it completely, as there was no cleanup, the kids made their own party favors, and they had pieces geared towards both girls and boys.

Lots of fun!

A friend of mine did a "tea-party" at their house. They decorated some tables really cute, the girls dressed up. They got some little hat for the girls dolls, and the girls decorated them. And they made jewelry. They had so much fun and it was very memorable.

We have a horse ranch in Godley, TX, it is a little far from North Dallas, but we have great parties. You can spend as little or as much as you would like - our pricing in by the event, not the number of children. Go to our website www.promiselandperformancehorses.com for more information. I too am a mom and owner/operator of our horse ranch!

Ice skating with a star theme.
Dallas childrens theater.
Movies.....cloudy with a chance of meatballs, & have the small group back to the house for spagetti.
Have a cooking party at home.....each can decorate a big cookie, or make their own pizza's and watch a movie.

For my daughters 7th she had a make-up party. I found cheap empty plastic containers at the dollar store and i set up our dining table with vaseline, bowls of dry koolaid mix, popsicle sticks, little plastic spoons also from the dollar store, body safe glitter, and small funnel and baby oil. We made lipgloss (vaseline and koolaide) and we made sparkling body oil (baby oil and glitter). Then we all painted our finger nails and while it dried i applied the temp tatoo's. They each made their own stuff to take home. They put on old dresses (check good will for prom dress and flower girl dresses) and danced around the house. I took lots of pictures and put those in the thank you cards i sent out later. It was fun.

My husband is a local DJ and he just did a 7 yr. old girl's birthday party a few weeks ago. They all had such a great time. Lots of Hannah Montana and Taylor Swift. Maybe they could learn that new Hannah Montana dance. He has lights and also provides goody bags for his advertising. We could fill them with girly things. He is listed on here under 1st Class DJ Service. We have already done 5 mamasource jobs this year and we are blessed to be part of this website and to provide people such great memories.

God Bless,

How about a "tea party" at home. I did this for my daughter at about the same age. The girls got all dressed up, we did a craft, played a couple of games, and decorated the cupcakes they got to eat! Or, you can do ice cream sundaes and put out little containers of toppings for them to "make their own." You can use iced tea; or hot tea, just watch the temperature so no one get burned.
You could get small pumpkins and permanent markers and let each girl decorate; same thing with clear ornaments - plus you can have each girl put some "fairy dust" (glitter) in their ornament.
Use your imagination and have fun! Also, have someone to assist you (your Mom or a good friend). Good luck.

We offer facepainting, balloon sculptures, comedy magic shows, Glitter Art Tattoos (these are great because the last 5-7 days), friendship bracelets, along with fun interaction and games. We've entertained at birthday parties and large events like the Plano Balloon Festival.

Our prices are very reasonable (we have four great kids of our own so we know how expensive things can get)and we do our best to work within a person's budget.

Please feel free to take a look at our website at www.freewebs.com/bubblesandwowza for samples of our work along with video testimonials from satified customers regarding our performance.

We can certainly making it a Girly Party if that is what she would like.

Hope you have a great party whatever you decide to do.

Great Wolfe Lodge in Grapevine. Great rates right now cause the weather. It also depends on what you want to spend and how many children will be going. We love it though! We went for my husbands birthday and my 8 yr old daughters birthday.

We had a Sweet and Sassy party for my daughter a couple months ago and she and her friends loved it. They run about $250 to $300 for about 9 girls and they have different themes (princess, rock star, etc.). There's also a place in Frisco called My Party Palace in the Jungle Red Salon that does these types of parties that you might want to check out. Good luck!!
