I need some advice on what to get my 6-year-old niece for her birthday. I really am clueless, she seems to have every toy in the world already.

What can I do next?

How about a class or membership to a cheap zoo? Or a gift certificate to a playgym or rock climbing wall?

What about a pillow case that glows in the dark? Some have cool sayings like "Girls Can Do Anything" among others. There is a neat website called comfycozy.com that has alot. I have found this to be a unique gift idea. Hope this helps.

My new favorite birthday gift for children 6-9 is the game Wild Planet Hyper Dash. I believe it is relatively new and has also won the Oppenheimer Toy Award (Platinum). It runs for about $19.99 and can be found at Target and Toys R Us. Everyone I know how has it, boy or girl, loves it.

If that doesn't work and you live close by how about an experience rather than a toy. You could take her to a movie and dinner, bowling, a movie, etc.

Hope that helps.

As a mother of a soon to be 7 year old, i can say my daughter loves crafts..anything to tape, glue, make bracelets. Also, she and her friends are very much into the webkinz. It is great! It allows them to shop, design, play games on line. Hope this helps!

what about a craft project? Or maybe a cd or dvd that she might like. Depending on how much you want to spend you could even get her a radio/cd player of her own.

Good Luck...

I have a cousin who always sends my kids gift certificates to Borders. They love books. They love to pick out their own books. It doesn't add to their already too many toys.
It's educational.

How about a craft kit? Some that my neices have enjoyed are foam kits (picture frames, scrap books, princess themes, treasure boxes), baskets of card making materials (card stock, pretty papers stampers, ink pads, hole punches in various shapes, markers), Klutz books (they have many themes including stained glass art, friendship bracelets, picture bracelets, yarn games like "cat in the cradle"), garden stone/mosaic kits, bead jewelry kits, kits where you decorate a jewelry box or tote/purse. It keeps them busy, encourages creativity and builds skills.

Or what about a magazine subscription? You can search online for discounted subscription rates as well as subscriber reviews. You could purchase a copy at a local retailer to give to her on her birthday and she will receive the rest of her present all year long.

Moon sand! I love it and have suggested it as gifts to others, and their kids love it.
