Hello! My daughter is 6 months old and I would like to get her picture taken professionally, but I have no idea where to take her to get it done. I live in the Bartlett area and would greatly appreciate any feedback on places you have taken your child/children and whether or not you liked the way the pictures turned out. I am looking for a place that doesn't cost a fortune, but that does nice pictures. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi J.!
Your dilemma is exactly what I was going through with all of my babies - finding really good photography without paying a fortune! The mall places are cute, but i always felt so rushed and didn't really feel like my baby's personality was being captured. Plus you get so pressured to get the whole dang package!
if you're looking for something as a happy medium between a way overpriced studio, and a little more friendly and personal than mall places, you should check out

My sister and I decided to open our own studio to help others get great beautiful pictures at affordable prices. And right now its even more affordable cause we are looking for models to build up our portfolio for our new website! So you can get a completely free session plus 3 free 8x10 prints just for letting us use your baby's adorable face on our website! We can come to your location or you can come to our in-home studio - how's that for convenience?

Good luck finding the perfect place for you! 6 months is SUCH a precious age to capture on film! my baby girl is 6 months also and I am LOVING getting her personality down for memory these days!

We love Picture People during the holidays. They run $19 a sheet (but you can find coupons for 15% off their sheets + a free 8x10 & free sitting). They have cute props for their photos & use a variety of poses for the little ones. My 4 month old twins we had- cupid wings, bow & arrows, & gold diaper covers for valentines day. They are running a special right now too for valentines day postcards. Check out their website online.

Hi J.!

I was going to Picture People at Spring Hill Mall (which is not there anymore) and I went to Target with my sister-in-law to get a family picture of the grandkids and never went back to Picture People. They did such a great job and were SO much cheaper! They also have coupons online where you get no sitting fees, a free 8X10 and either 3.99 or 4.99 sheets. They're in the Target next to the Allstate Arena, a bit of a drive, but well worth it. When at Picture People I was spending lots of money because when the kids are babies you get pictures more often and it really adds up.

If you are looking for a real inexpensive option but have pretty good pictures try JC Penney. I go there for all my daughters milestone pictures and have been very happy each time. They allow you to make clothes changes and bring props if you want to make the picture special. Her annual pictures we use Growing Family, they come to your house and take the pictures in your home which is really convenient for your child as they do not have to wait for their turn.

I have had good luck with Kiddie Kandids (located inside Babies R Us), Picture People at Spring Hill Mall, and surprisingly Sears does some nice pics. Good luck!
