Hello! I am 19 weeks along with my second pregnancy. Yesterday I started feeling a dull ache in my upper abdomin. RIght under my chest. NOthing painful, its almost like the day after you do a bunch of sit ups or something. I figured it was from sweeping and vaccuming for some reason even though I do that everyday. I woke up today and everything was fine. But surely enough after cleaning this morning it is back. Not so much when I am sitting down but when I am standing up and walking around. Any ideas on what this could be? My blood pressure is fine, no swelling than the normal for me. No headaches or nothing. I just dont remember having this feeling when I was pregnant with my son. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I had that w/ my first two, i think it's just the uterus making more room and moving into the stomach and liver neighborhood :) maybe it's even hooking up cable and getting it's own phone line, har. cheers, pregnant lady!

Congrats on your second pregnancy! Honestly I think our bodies are so in tune with what we need when we're pregnant that we have to simply just listen sometimes. If you have experienced this pain after cleaning more than 1 time, my advice would be to take it a little easier. Slow down, don't worry so much about keeping your house immaculate - or do it in smaller doses. Healthy baby over a cleaner house any day! AND not a bad idea to just check in with your doctor to make sure.

My first guess was indigestion or heart burn. Maybe when you have this pop some Tums and see if it goes away. I am assuming you know what Braxton Hicks feel like right? But, for me at least, that was more of a rolling tightness over the belly and not really localized. If it continues I would call the doctor for reassurance.

As an OB nurse-my best advice is to call your doctor whenever you are unsure about something-even as minor (what you might think) as this. The worst he'll do is send you to the hospital to be monitored and do some additional tests. This minor inconvenience is worth it for peace of mind.

I am almost 19 weeks and I'm having the same problem. I had it with my first 2. Your baby is growing. Yesterday the baby was stretching out and movng A LOT and today I felt that ache. It's good, it means the babies growing and your uterus is stretching! Yah!

It is probably just "growing pains". Sound exactly like what I had. Sometimes it felt like a pain in my lower ribs too and my OB said it was normal, but it did make it difficult to sleep on my side. I'd give the doc a call just in case.

I think you should call your dr. right away. I think any expecting woman should call her dr. if she feels uncomfortable in anyway with something going on. It's better to be safe! Good luck & congrats!

Sounds like the normal pain of the uterus growing. Not saying that it's fun, just that it's normal:) I had it so bad that I dreamed that my daughter kicked a hole in my ribs on night!

If it doesn't get any better definitely ask your doc or midwife about it. Try doing some stretching exercises and check your posture too. Pregnant ladies tend to slump which can cause some unusual aches and pains. Or you could always stop cleaning for good and see if it goes away:) Good luck.

PLEASE go to your DR right away, and hopefully it is nothing. I did get preeclampsia with only this symptom during my pregnancy. I had no swelling, etc. I thought it could not be preeclampsia, so I just lived with it a week- by the end of the week the pain had increased to the point where I went it. Honestly, I though it was constipation! I wish I had gone in right away.... My boy had to come early, but all is fine now.
I hope this is not it, but I would feel much better if you made sure. Even my blood presser was fine at first- but once I was in the hospital they did find proteins in my urine.
