I agree with Marda, this sounds like a bug, since there is no fever. Have him drink as many clear liquids as he can handle.. Jello, plain saltines if he wants a little something in his tummy.

Also you can hold a cool wash cloth behind his neck to give him some relief from really strong vomiting..

Sounds like a stomach bug that has gone around in our family. Try giving him a liquid with a flavor. We use "dead" ginger ale or a citrus flavored drink. Kool Aid works. Try having him rinse out his mouth and then take a sip of something. If you have popsicles have him suck for a bit on one of them. I wouldn't be concerned about dehydration yet. Just continue trying to have him take a sip or two of a liquid every so once in awhile and keep a watch for dehydration. Once he stops vomiting it will e easier for him to take sips. He probably equates the sips with the vomiting at this point. And he's worn out from all the vomiting. If he's sleeping let him sleep.

After 2-3 hrs of no vomiting try a teaspoon of an easy liquid like chicken broth, flat ginger ale or apple juice. If after an hour he hasn't vomited offer another teaspoon or 2. It takes some time for the stomach to stop spasms, so the key is to go slowly. Once he seems on the way to recovery keep away from dairy as this is harder to digest.

Hope he is better.

Get pedialyte for him to drink - hydration is important. - basically it's okay it sugar it up until he likes it enough to drink. As long has he keeps having wet diapers regularly, I think he is hydrated.

Pedialyte ice pops. Let him suck on them. It is usually the one thing
that workds. Good luck.

:"Popsicle" (brand) icepops. As long as he won't eat or drink let him have them as often as he will eat then. They will keep him hydrated AND cool (if fever does come). They have 3 different flavors in the box so he won't get sick of the same thing. Also Ginger ale with bubbles out is good for upset stomach. Call the doctor too!!!! A.

I like Maria's answer. I am wondering if he's having dry heaves, which is vomiting no food, but stomach juices. If he won't drink ginger ale or popsicles, taken to the ER because I am concerned about him being dehydrated. Act fast and think because if he won't drink or take any liquids and vomiting, then he's going to dehydrate quickly....I'll pray for you and him.....

He needs pediolyte to restore his electrolites. It tastes good and they make ice pops too. Its important that he not dehydrate. Take his hand and gently pull up the skin on the top of his hand. If it pops right back he is OK, If it stays in a little peak take him to the ER ASAP. he is dehydrated and that is very dangerous for a baby.

You can also try Smart Water in addition to the Pedialyte. My daughter was not a big fan of Pedialyte when she was sick and Smart Water has extra electrolites in it which is need to stay hydrated. If you start to see signs of dehydration, take him to the ER as Nan D. suggested. I took my daughter to her regular pediatrician (last visit to that lady) who told me everything was fine and it had to run its course...the next day my daughter had a seizure b/c of the dehydration. It is very serious.

Take him to the doctor. Kids get dehydrated fast and go downhill quickly. Have you tried popsicles?
