Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has tried 10 minute trainer and how they liked it. I just had a baby 5 months ago and want something to get back in shape that doesnt take a lot of time. I am actually under my prepregnancy weight and don't need to loose any, but I do want to get toned. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi K.!
I have done the beach body 10 trainers and love them. They get me sweating fast and keep my heart in a good range through out. I was so sore the first week so make sure you drink lots of water. I love them. They are hard but getting easier as I get some of my weight off. Im sure if you are just looking to tone you will love them. I love that if I only have time to do one with a 2 min warm up and cool down its only 14 min and I can do it more than once in my day. I like the little planned out map that changes up which trainer to do each day so its something different each time. I dont get bored doing the same thing over and over. I personally think this is a great way to go.
Good Luck!!

Hi, K.,

I don't have any experience with 10 minute trainer, but I wanted to share my experience with a great series of classes called StrollerFit, restore the core & MommymuscleSculpt.

All three classes are about an hour in lenght, but it gives me a chance to get out of the house, get in a great total body workout and I can spend quality time with my daughter. It's really changed my life and I've gotten great results.

Not sure where you live, but they have a website that lists classes (strollerfit.com)and it might be worth it for you to check out. You can bring your kids with you and the best part is that you are engaged with them the whole time. My daughter has learned her ABCs, 123s and can do both in Spanish & English from just sitting in her stroller and being a little sponge.

restore the core is an abs class that has removed about 1 inch from my waist hips & thighs since I started doing it consistently and I can tell that my "inner tube" is deflating! Woo HOO!!

I wish you the best. If you find that there aren't classes in your area, you can visit shopmommymuscle.com and they have these wonderful DVDs you can order, as well.

Hi K.,

I'm not sure if I know exactly what 10 minute trainer you are talking about but I keep up with my toning with some similar workout videos. I love the Women's Health Total Workout in Ten and 08 Minute Core Workouts New Core Series. I do abs every workout and alternate upper and lower body everyother workout. I do cardio every workout. For my cardio I do surge training. It's how a lot of professional and olympic athletes train. Here is a link to show you how to do it.

http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Do-Surge-Training

It only take me about 15 minutes to do my cardio. I use a treadmill or a stairclimber but you can do it just around the block too, no eqipment needed.

Hope this gives you some ideas!

I am not aware of the ten minute trainer. I just wanted to share my experience with you. I have three kids and I have gone to the gym consistantly for about 15 years. I started doing power yoga about 3 years ago and I got more toned than I did at the gym. Yoga and pilates are great for toning. Lifting weights is also great for toning but you will probably gain muscle and weight at the same time. Muscle weighs about 3 pounds and the same amount of fat weighs 1 pound.

have not tried a 10 min trainer but I did have a baby 1 year ago and have been doing Turbo Jam for 6 months, and it is Amazing! It is available at beachbody.com, but On that site it is $75.00... I got mine for $9.00 from Amazon. It has 5 workouts: 3 are cardio, 1 for abs and 1 for all-over toning. They range from 15-40 min workouts. I am in the best shape of my life thanks to this workout dvd. i would recommend it, all you need is a tv and 2 3-5 lb handweights. I do the workouts 3-4 times a week combined with Yoga or Pilates 2 times a week, and pushups. Good luck!

Putting only 10 minutes into a workout will not provide you the results that you would like. Unless you do it 3 times a day (in a row) 5 days a week. You should be doing a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio activity (bring your heart rate up to cardiovascular levels) for 30 minutes continually...this usually doesn't include the warm-up period. Cardio should be done at least 4 days a week. But, you should also include some light weight work with high repetitions to get the toning you'd mentioned. My favorite workout for this is: warm-up (10-15 minutes of slow to moderate walking), Stretching (every major muscle group, about 8 minutes), cardio (eliptical, running, bicycle, brisk walking...whatever level you need to start off with to keep your heart rate at a cardio level, 20-40 minutes or longer if you have the time that particular day), light weights (you should feel muscle fatigue arriving at 20 reps)...alternate between upper body and lower body but don't forget the all important core. Be sure you are going between weight machines quickly to keep your heart rate up but slow down and do the lifting correctly while you are on the machine. Focus on how those muscles feel when they are being worked. Always finish with a cool down, at least 10 minutes, brisk walking...then stretch. It's awesome you don't have to worry about losing weight, but for minimum health and well-being, you will find putting some effort into time alone for yourself will go miles for your overall mood, attitude about life and how you feel about yourself. Make it a priority. The workout I described...the weights should be done at least 3 days a week...the complete work out only takes an hour and I promise you it will be worth it.
