I'm looking for a place that teaches dance for kids and adults on the southside/greenwood/southport area, and one that doesn't cost a whole bunch of money. Let me know if you have any ideas please.
Thanks, moms!

My daughter attends Indy Arts Xchange. They have all types of dance classes (tap, jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, etc.) They also have dance and exercise classes for adults. In addition, they offer Kindermusik classes, private voice and piano lessons, group guitar classes, art classes and theater classes. It is a great place to learn dance without the high pressure of being perfect. Here is their website: www.indyartsxchange.com

I took my kids to New Creation Performing Arts. It is smaller than some of the big ones and the owner is REALLY nice! (My oldest is 22 and teaches there too) It's very family oriented and many of the moms take classes there too! Not necessarily with their girls; but, if the child is a little older they can. There have been several mom/daughter performances at the Recitals! It is near U of I - Kathy Jones is the Owner/Director but I don't have her number. I will find it and send it to you. :-)

We started ballet this year at Bandy Dance studio. My 7 year old daughter takes a class once a week for 38 dollars a month. There is a recital at the end of the year and we don't know how much that costs yet but we are enjoying it. I used to teach high school color guard so it is important to me that she learn proper technique and she is there. They are nice and offer a lot to adults as well as kids of all ages and genders. Also if you don't want a huge commitment try the Baxter YMCA on Shelby and Stop 11. They offer ballet for toddlers up to age 7 I think. There is no recital and each session is only about 6 or 7 weeks long. Miss Tracy is very sweet and has been there a long time. You could work-out a little if you wanted to. Oh! Bandy is at Madison and Edgewood in a strip mall it doesn't look like much outside but I like it.

I take my daughter to Dance Expressions behind Kroger on 135 and Fairview. They also have classes for adults. I just love Judi (the owner) and the teachers are wonderful!

The Dance Refinery 8335 S. Shelby St. Ph ###-###-#### has every kind of dance. They also have a fully equipped gym, cheer, and acting classes for ages 10 months through adult. The staff is very organized and professional, and the prices are very reasonable no matter how involved you want to be.
