Hello Mamas

We will be hosting my son's Eagle Court of Honor in mid-May and I am looking for a good punch recipe. Probably one that does not include sherbet because I don't think we'll have access to a refrigerator. Anybody have a favorite?

Thanks,

M.

I just made a punch this weekend. I wanted one that had few ingredients, and was not colored, so it wouldn't stain my rugs if it was spilled. It's amber in color.

one 64 oz jug white grape juice
one 2 liter bottle of ginger ale

Everyone told me "this punch is really good!"

Our go to punch is super easy
1 can/jug Hawaiian punch red
1/2 can pineapple juice
1 2 ltr bottle of sprite or ginger ale

Put in punch bowl and serve. We usually make ice cubes ahead of time out of the Hawaiian punch

You can play with the amounts of pineapple juice. My kids love this.

No matter what recipe you use, you can... make ice cubes, made out of a particular juice, sherbert etc..
And it will keep the punch colder, longer.
My Mom used to do this.
She actually would freeze, an emptied 1/2 gallon carton of milk which was filled with whatever juice etc., and place it in the punch bowl punch mix. And it would last awhile and meanwhile keep the punch cold and it also flavors the punch at the same time.
You could even add in some mint leaves to that when freezing. Makes it look real pretty.
(to take the ice block out of the milk carton, just peel it away. Real easy).

Just put the ice cubes or ice block in a small cooler. Take it with you, and then make your punch wherever you have to take it.

You are going to think this is crazy, but it really is refreshing and not overly sweet.

Depending on how much you need to make. 1 pouch of Unsweetened Black Cherry Kool -Aid (mix and Follow the directions on the pouch) We only add half of the sugar suggested but you can use all of it if you like. and then add 2 qts Orange Juice. You can use fresh orange juice or mix up a batch of the frozen concentrate, (just follow the directions)

Stir this all together and chill.

You could premix and chill this in an igloo Beverage cooler, if you do not own one, ask if you can borrow one. Add ice to it..

1 cup sugar
6 cups water
2 3 oz pkg of strawberry jello mix
1 46 oz can of pineapple juice
2/3 cup lemon juice
1 qt orange juice
2 2 liter bottles of lemon lime soda

Heat sugar, water and gelatin in large pot on stove. Bring to a boil for 3 mins. Stir in juices. Divide into 2 containers and freeze (I use 2 1 gallon zip lock bags)

Put frozen mixture into punch bowl. Pour 1 2 liter of lemon lime soda. Stir until slushy. Each container makes one punch bowl. This is the best recipe.
My mom uses this in the summer for when it is so stinking hot. It is refreshing and so yummy. She also substitutes diet soda and Splenda when she makes it because my dad is type 2 diabetic.
Enjoy!

I have two...one does require sherbert:

Orange Sherbert (not rainbow just orange)
7up
Hawaiian Punch (traditional red not all the others)
Pour the drinks over the sherbert at the same time.

Orange Juice
Pineapple Juice
Cranberry Juice
Grapefruit Juice (we like Ruby Red)
Mix equal parts (I personally like a bit more Pineapple Juice in mine)

We do a lot of cranberry juice, Great Value Black Cherry Cranberry juice is my favorite, and 7-Up. I like the crisp fresh flavor. It sort of clears up the palate.

You can freeze a ring of the liquid and it will melt giving the punch a slush like texture.

Louisiana lemonade is my fave. I make it at work (restaurant) all the time. its half lemonade and half sprite. Add raspberry puree and mango puree to taste. We just use the "finest call" brand cocktail mixers (no alcohol) in the restaurant. The lemonade we use is minuted maid lite from the fountain. But I think any combo like this would be good. Country time lemonade makes a strawberry lemonade mix that is AMAZING. Sometimes they get it at costco.

The one Lori posted is my go-to punch recipe. I LOVE it. The only thing I change is the sugar. I put in 1/2C or less. It's already sweet and just doesn't need it. It's delicious and SO refreshing. YUM! Now I want some.

I don't like the taste of sugar soda (I can totally tell a difference between real sugar and high fructose corn syrup) so I just use juice and soda water or juice and sparkling cider to give it a fizz. I randomly throw in whatever combo sounds good at the moment! Adding lemonade is a good idea too.
