I was just prescribed Protopic for eczema on my eyelid and the 'possible side effects' are scary to say the least. I was wondering if anyone has used this product and what their thought was on it

Thanks in advance

My husband used it and thought it was great. He had no problems at all.

Every medicine out there lists every possible side effect but few people really experience them. If they did, doctors wouldn't prescribe the medicine. I believe they prescribe ProTopic to children so it must be okay.

Check with your pharmacist too because often times they get the calls about side effects.

Eczema can be an internal yeast problem. I would detox as much as possible and de-yeast as well. My daughter was born with thrush in the mouth and systemic yeast, it was coming out her bum. A few months later the doc said she had the worst case of eczema he had seen. She doesn't have any now...we de yeasted her. Dandilion extract can detox the liver and I would start there. Caprylic acid is also great, as is raw virgin coconut oil, on the skin and internally. Also, 1 T a day raw virgin cold pressed flax seed oil (found in dark bottles the fridge section of good markets) brings oxygen to the cells and helps clear toxins.

ps... are u sure its eczema? I had a rashy thing like that on my eyelids once, turns out my makeup- my eye shadow- was infected with bacteria. Throw out any cosmetics and don't use any for a while. Use the coconut oil on the lids a couple times a day.

We have been using protopic on my son for years, though never on his face. He has really bad eczema on his fingers and toes, plus sometimes other places as well. I don't think we were restricted from using it on his face, we just haven't ever needed to. It generally clears things up pretty well and he hasn't ever had negative side effects. He's only 7.
