Old Wives/Wise Tales of Predicting Gender of Unborn Children Come True. JFF

When I went to the doctor when pregnant with my most recent child born, he listen to the heart beat and told me it was 160-170, which he said, that in some wise/wives tales, that the faster the heart beat the more likely it is to be a girl, which is what I wanted. He told me not to take him seriously at this, but he had seen many girls born in this line of heart rates. So in despret want of a girl, I took it to heart. Every doctors appointment I hoped for the heart rate to stay high, and it did, never below 150. I carried this baby differntly than my 9 year old boy, this one was way up high, making it hard for me to breath, and h*** o* my back, plus I craved sweets more often than not. Many a sign it to be a girl. So when I went in for the tale tell altrasound, I crossed my fingers, the whole time I said it was a girl, I was going to make this baby a girl with just meer thoughts, and sure enough, my baby was found to be a girl. So when I got pregnant again recently, and the doctor told me this babies heart rate was 140 I knew in a instant that this one was a boy. I am carring low like I did with my 9 year old, I been craving tacos and chips and mostly salty things, and as much as I wanted this one to be abother girl seeing as to how close the two will be in age, no need for clothes shopping if it was a girl, It was announce just yestraday that indeed I am having another little boy. My son and the father are very excited. So I am just curious to if others have such wives tales come true for you? Oh an by the way I did the little sex predictor thing online, and it was right on all my children. How about you?

What can I do next?

nope.
i wanted girls so badly. i've got 5 brothers- i figured i had enough testosterone in my life. and the heart rates and upper and lower carriages and wedding ring divinations all indicated that my desire was destined to come true. girls on tap.
until they slid out with those little pointers on display. (i never found out in advance.)
wishful thinking is very powerful.
fortunately for me, as soon as laid eyes on my babies all vestiges of disappointment evaporated forever. i still have wistful hopes for a granddaughter at some point, but mothering boys was clearly and joyfully exactly right for me.

Carried high and in front for 1 low and wide on another.Since they didn't do ultrasounds unless there was a problem we had to wait and see. Both girls. One of my friends was certain she was having a girl for #2. Picked out only a girl's name and her son called the baby by that name through the entire pregnancy. Nope another boy.

Both my girls had fast heartbeat. Both boys slower. That's because females are movers and shakers!!!!

The heartbeat theory proved correct for my two girls and even my son. My mother's way of telling was also correct. She took my wedding ring and tied a string (about 5 inches long) and hold it above your tummy, about 2 inches above. It will either swing back and forth or it will go in a circle. It's best that you have someone else do this so that you don't unconsciously "sway" the results. Circle = Boy. Back and Forth = Girl. What's funny, is my hubby and I found out the sexes before telling her, and she got each one correct! :)

All of my single pregnancies were boys, and they were all pretty similar in terms of how I carried, etc. I didn't know about the heart rate thing so I didn't pay attention to that.

My one girl was part of my boy/girl twin pregnancy and obviously that was waaayyyyy different from the other pregnancies in every way, so no way to compare.

All of my pregnancies were pretty much the same. I don;t think I would count the first since it was 2 girls and a boy but none produced much in cravings. I did not show much for them either. Looking at my from the back, you would not have known I was pregnant at all. With exception of the first, heartburn was pretty much the same as well. The first, vitamins gave me awful heartburn. The only thing really different with the third pregnancy was that I could not stand the smell of cooked meat--is that a tale for boys? And all had a higher heart rate.
