New Life Church in Gahanna has an awesome Dance Ministry team that offers ballet and tap. It is wonderful and some classes begin as early as age 3. My daughter loves it and it is a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. They dance to praise and worship music for practice and recitals. The fees are very, very reasonable. If this is of interest, feel free to email me and I will get your more detailed information.

Where are you located? My 5 year old goes to Judy Dollenmayer Studio in Gahanna. It's a wonderful place.

My 2 1/2 year old goes to Columbus Dance Arts Academy on the corner of Riverside and 161. Miss Erin is great! Their website is columbusdancearts.com. They have a variety of classes for all different age groups.

You might want to look into signing them up for courses through Westerville Community Center to see if they like it as much as they think they will. My 6 yr old is on her second round of Pre Ballet and really loves it.

Hi S.-
My daughter went to Generation Performing Arts for many years and we absolutely loved it. The owners are the instructors - I highly recommend them.

If you think they might be serious about dance and want to keep it going through the years and you want them to study "dance" versus spending hundreds of dollars on fluffy outfits with hoards of sequins and feathers, try Ballet Met. I was VERY surprised at how affordable they were. They aren't a competitive facility, meaning they don't go to competitions and have expensive recitals at the end of the year, but they are serious about dance.

Even if your girls decide its not for them, you haven't spent $1000 on costumes they'll never use again!

I grew up in a competitive dance environment and I wish that I would have had the opportunity to study more seriously.

Good Luck!
